So it looks like we are going to buy our first house. We got preapproved today.
I will paint every wall a different color.

We went up to the 86th floor of the Empire State building and the view was so beautiful. We walked around midtown NYC and saw the flatiron building, went into the Strand bookstore, and ate some bagels. Then in the evening we had dinner at Red Bamboo and watched a comedy show with Judah Friedlander (Frank from 30 Rock) and some hilarious other guys. Tomorrow I get tattooed and go to the MOMA. fork. yes. Life rules this week.

My boyfriend made me laugh so hard at the gym. He was talking about a soul food skit and was like..."you like orca right....we had that before!"...I was puzzled because obviously I do not eat whale and I am not sure who does...I am like "huh"....he said "ya we had fried orca in Oakland..."...I am like "no babe"...He was like "yes, it was a big side dish of fried green things"...Then the light bulb went off and I said "you mean okra???"....he said "yes"....but I could not stop laughing so hard....

Good news on the Ginny front! Her cornea is healing over the infection! She'll still need to be on medication for a good while, need to deal with the reason the infection came in the first place, but! All the bad possibilities are over.

I was running late to work today, and had to stop somewhere to grab my morning bagel and tea. The person in front of me secretly paid for my food! They left too quickly for me to thank them, but it's put me in such a good mood today. I didn't know people actually did that!

Hehe, when I worked at Starbucks, it happened at least once a day. It was always so heartwarming! Usually in the morning, interestingly enough... I don't think it ever happened in the evening.

It hasn't happened yet, but my boyfriend is coming home from SF (work trip) tonight. It is crazy lonely without him and I talk out loud to my cats when he isn't here. Yay!

My dad bought me a fancy space heater!! It's supposed to really circulate the heat through the area, and it's energy efficient. I may be able to go this winter without having to chose between wearing my indoor hat and paying $300 heating bills!

I woke up and realized I was resting my head on my cat, like a pillow. And she was purring happily, totally fine with the weight of my massive head. She even had her paw rested on my hand. OMG CATS, right?!

vijita, one of my cats loves to come lay on my pillow (and hair, now that it's long enough!) at night, with his nose pressed against my head. often when i start to get up in the morning he puts his paw over my arm as if to say, "no, claire, just stay in bed and cuddle with me a little bit longer." it's the sweetest and cutest! cats are simply the greatest.

I got to hang out with Paprikapapaya, T, RandiJM and Rachell37! The absolute best was that Leela fell in love with 4P and gave her this amazing sweet hug when they met. She wanted to be held and then relaxed her whole body into 4P. I love babyhugs.
Also Randi is one of my favorite people ever and brought. L her first stagedooring ensemble. I bet its going to be so much more effective with a wee baby in an ensemble that includes a beret.
And Rachell37 is so fun! We had Cinnamon Snail donuts and I get to see her tomorrow too!
Everyone was so nice to us all day and made getting in and out of the city a blast, and not an ordeal.
