I'm attending an annual convention this weekend. I'm not going to reveal what for yet, incase there is someone here with inside information that would give them an unfair advantage. This year they actually had a box to check for a vegan dinner option! Inspired by whoever started a thread like this a few months ago, here's the game: take a guess as to what I might be served (I have no clue yet). Whoever gets the closest to what I am actually served wins!

Is the meal plated or buffet for the others?

Tofu soup. Made from tofu. And water. Oh, and I bet there will be salad, you can eat that! Just leave off the creamy ranch dressing. And the bacon.

I'm guessing if it actually has a vegan option, it may be decent.
I'm going to go the Italian route and say something like pasta with tomato sauce and roasted veggies.

Possibly sorbet for dessert. I work at a hotel and before we got an ex-vegan head chef this was the standard meal. Now they make better entrees but it's still a fruit cup or sorbet for dessert, they should pay me to make desserts for the vegans we get.

Lasagna with cheese. And a sad salad™ (iceberg lettuce, tomato wedge, cucumber slice). For dessert, mixed fruit.

Butternut squash soup for starters with a curried tofu noodle stir fry for mains, and a raspberry sorbet for dessert.

Last time I went to a conference/banquet, and clearly marked "vegan," upon checking in, made sure to clarify what "vegan" was and- surprise!- they didn't have a clue.
I got: salad (but couldn't have the dressings), and a measly plate of vegetables. A SMALL measly plate of vegetables, while everyone else had heaps of stuff on their plates. And no dessert for me, either.
On the other hand, I went to a different benefit/gala and got a so-so salad (same as everyone else), an awesome roasted veggie platter that was so full I could not finish it and an awesomely decadent fruit plate for dessert-- the people who had the cake desserts wanted mine because it was so fresh and awesome.
At a friend's wedding, I had the best vegetables I've ever had- no joke. They called it a vegetable tower or something. So many, couldn't finish, and all so good- on a bed of quinoa.
So, point is, I hope you are fed a ton of awesome veggies with a grain of some sort and a fruit plate for dessert. And that everyone is jealous because their cake is too dense and gross.

green salad with no dressing; if you are lucky, you will be offered oil and vinegar and a spoon
grilled eggplant and tomato stack, possibly with potatoes; if you a lucky, a minuscule amount of some sort of pesto type substance; your entree will be served 10 minutes before everybody else, thus ensuring that your food will be ice cold by the time you get to eat
bowl of strawberries

What I hope you get: A few slices of grilled or baked Mediterranean or Italian-spiced tofu, couscous, spinach-strawberry salad with an olive oil/balsamic vinaigrette. What you will probably get: Eggplant parmesan (breaded with egg batter -- what do you mean, you don't eat eggs?) or a pile of roasted vegetables, pasta with marinara sauce, dry iceberg lettuce topped with carrot shreds.
I love the idea of sad salad™, and am sad to admit that it is my only option in many eateries.

Something with polenta. Roasted vegetables. Dry salad. No dessert (my experience has been that people don't realize veganism extends past the main course ... I've never been able to eat dessert at a conference banquet). Hopefully they at least have an open bar.
Good luck!

very oily pasta, grilled vegetables, possibly skewers. There might be tofu, probably grilled in a crisscross pattern.
you will get packets of butter on the side of a very hard roll that will flake all over the table when you break it.

option 1: cold silken tofu, on a bed of iceberg lettuce and sad looking tomato slices, garnished with a sprig of parsley. option 2: pasta with marinara sauce. you will have to send this back when the plate comes covered in parmesan. option 3: cheese and fruit platter

Maybe some zucchini or peppers in the stack...covered in oil.
