I didn't buy any candy. I can't even be as halgrinchy as I want to be, because our porch lights are automatically on at night.

I don't really care for Halloween. I stopped dressing up when I was 14. We carved a pumpkin this year for the first time in a long time, though, and that was okay but really I could take or leave it.

I know it's my own fault for opening this thread, but this makes me all kinds of sad!

I used to live in the country and now I live in an apartment building. I've never gotten a trick-or-treater in my life. It's kind of sad.

It'll be over in 5 hours!
My friend said if I want to take Livi trick or treating again tomorrow we can go to her house. I politely declined :D (Though if there's a house with peanut chews, we're in)

If it helps at all, I hate where I live and I am generally a shut in and I don't have a lot of friends here and most of the people around here are rude and I don't really want to have to deal with them ringing my door all night. Okay, it isn't all night. It's mandated 6-9pm and I'll probably be out with Livi from at least 6-7. Also, it'll probably be better once it gets going, but the anticipation of things really gets to me.

Especially at work, where it's such a big deal and the different departments go around the office according to a schedule and go trick or treating and you're expected to give out candy. That you bought. For grownups. I saw the email go around about people being 'welcome to bring their kids to the office for trick or treating at 3pm' and took that as my cue to leave early. Got the whole afternoon off!

In conclusion, Livi fell down 3 steps and landed on her face and her lip/cheek is horribly swollen and horribly bruised inside and out.

In theory I like Halloween, but in reality I don't like spending money on a costume that I'll only wear once. And most cheap costumes that are realistic for me are lame. Ergo, I rarely dress up.
I'm not a grinch so much as I'm ambivalent and poor.

I'm going to spend today making Seitan Turkeys for Thanksgiving potluck next weekend. Last year was our first halloween in this house. We got one trick or treater. This year I just spend $5 on little pretzel bags since we'll still eat those if we don't get anyone (last year it did downpour all night!) Appi -- Why would you need to bring FIVE DOZEN cupcakes!? That seems like a high demand for a potluck.
