I'm glad they took care of it (and that you didn't have to go)!

We wanted to have a stay-in-jammies-and-don't-leave-the-house day, but then we found out there was a wine tasting a couple blocks from us. So we had to put on real cloths and leave the house to go taste wine. Sometimes life is really hard.

Ugh, couldn't they just deliver the wine???
I wanted to have a little drinking party with my date but we pretty much napped the day away and by the time we got out of bed all the liquor stores were closed.

I want to knit in my jammie's and have bourbons/nog while catching up on the last season of doctor who. The reality is I have no nog and I have a shiitake ton of things to do before my too early flight in the morning.

I had to go to three grocery stores to find fresh cranberries.

And now I have too many because I bought a frozen "just in case" bag from wegmans, and then the 2lb bag at Giant was on sale for only $1 more than the 12 oz bag.

Is too many cranberries actually a problem? 8oz are going in a cranberry pear pie. Another cup or so are going in orange cranberry muffins. I'll stuff some in some cookies. What else? (This is why my family cringes when I get near pumpkin or cranberry. I am unable to moderate my impulses. I see these things and my eyes go all Jungle Book.)

Cranberry margaritas! I really want to make some. You make a cranberry simple syrup.

Yes I have a friend that makes cranberry mimosas with cranberry simple syrup. She calls them poinsettias.

If you have an ice cream maker, make cranberry sauce, cool it completely in the fridge, then put in the ice cream maker for a lovely cranberry sorbet.

I can't stop losing my Apple TV remote, and I can't use the one on my phone because I'm playing Candy Crush, and I can't use the ipad remote because I'm on here.

I can't stay awake! I don't know if I'm coming down with some sort of bug or not. I slept for 13 hours straight Saturday night, and I had to force myself to get out of bed, because I felt like I could have slept 13 hours more! I have stuff to do for christmas, but I just want to go to sleep!

Yeah! If I can get pizza and Chinese food delivered to my house, why can't I get wine experts to come over and pour me little sips of wine and tell me about the region where the grapes were grown, and what kind of finish the wine has, and how many points it got in some recent contest or something? And bring some strangers over too so I can socialize with them while I taste my wine in my pajamas. Wine experts and strangers are welcome to be in pajamas too.

Sorry you didn't get to have your drinking party joyfulgirl. I'll try to send my imaginary door to door wine tasting service your way as soon as I am done with them!

The finale of the NBC Sing-Off aired tonight. I don't have a TV so I've been watching each episode the morning after, when it goes up on Hulu. One of the groups from a previous year's Sing-Off posted the name of the winning group on their Facebook just now! They put the words "Spoiler Alert" in front of it but it was too close to the name of the winner to actually prevent someone from seeing it. For fork's sake! It's not a spoiler alert then!

I'm still going to watch the finale and pretend like I don't know who's going to win. But oh boy am I pissed!

I do the same with cranberry juice. I was googling it, and I guess a true poinsettia has orange liqueur, too (like Cointreau or something?). I think just the cranberry juice and sparkling wine is delightful though. We had that on the night we brought Boo home! Awe. :)

My PSPTYmanamana, do doo do do do/manamana/do doo do do, is that I was doing too much like, putting together stuff, so now my hands feel dry and I have some small cuts.

My husband put together a huge display of presents for Leela and within an hour, our dog Cuddles had peed all over them. He had been out right before so this was clearly him being miffed that she got more gifts.

He is getting dog diapers.

Our dog just kicked me off the couch. I was in her favorite spot. Jerk.

So now I'm sitting on the other couch in the space that never gets used, and it's not as comfy.

I hate it when I get a craft store coupon in my email...the day after I've bought yarn.

Sending you so many good thoughts. Its really hard leaving someone with an addiction and leaving the place you love.
