someone in my building is toasting bagels--either onion or everything--and they smell so good! now i really, really, really want a bagel, but it's a little rainy, and my umbrella is in my car, and i'd have to walk two blocks up the hill to get one. *sigh*

eta: it just got sunny! i might have four minutes to get up the hill and back before it starts to rain again! I'M COMING, BAGELS!

So there's this place that makes these cobb salads that are ridiculously good. And it's $10. AND I WILL PAY THAT. It's just lettuce, tomatoes, grilled tofu, tempeh, avocado, croutons, and house-made dressing, but I can't for the life of me see myself making it as good as theirs. But they close at 6 every day. And I don't get into Baton Rouge until 6. And they're closed on Sundays. So I have to wait all week for my overpriced cobb salad fix.

And now I learnt what a cobb salad is!

Sorry, that's not a problem... just a point of note, I guess. Stick a pin in my ignorance or something.

I am bored enough that I have to do school stuff. We are on vacation in new hampshire and its the off season and so nothing is even open in this itty bitty kitchy vacationtown, no heated swimming pool, no arcades, and certainly nothing vegan to eat. Its also rainingish now, so a walk down by the water is out. And I hardly slept for no good reason except I guess running brain and sharing a bed with my snoring mom. And not much is happening on PPK either.

So, now I have to do school. Maybe tomorrow I will see what the bored townies do in the one bar that is yet open here. That could be...interesting. My mom will probably freak out that i walked 5 minutes to see if I won't be too shy around complete strangers to actually talk to them. Probably I'm just trying to make myself more confident, like the Ted Talks I saw last night.

But for right now, I have First World Problems.

My favorite pair of running shorts cost $55! And now I'm sitting staring at Ebay trying to decide whether I should buy another pair of them for $45 and my life is so haaard and I think I'm going to go jump in my apartment complex's swimming pool so I stop thinking about it.

Jealous. Mr. Moon blew up the pool heater last year so I may be stuck with an untested pool this summer. Tears.

I just ate a raspberry Silk yogurt and now have raspberry seeds in my teeth. Oh, and the niggling thought that maybe I SHOULD feel guilty for supporting Silk given some of their questionable ethical practices, but I really DON'T feel guilty about it. Is guilt over absence of first-world guilt a legitimate first-world problem?

I am so ridiculously hungry. But also so lazy today that I don't want to cook lunch for just me. Sigh.

I dealt with this problem earlier via corn chips and salsa.

Over the last year and a half I've lost weight around my hips, butt and thighs and all my pants that are supposed to be tight, are now saggy. I don't want to buy more pants!

I worked really hard last night to make the Sanctuary Chef Salad from AFR to start my week off right. I was so tired from the day that I forgot that the baked tofu was still cooling on my dining room table - and I left it out all night! So I wound up having to go to Whole Foods for baked tofu from the salad bar to make my salad complete. Oh, and to buy more tofu to try again tonight.

My digestive tract normally runs in underdrive, so overdrive gets me back to average. Also, I really like the flavour.

I've concluded that the combination of chocolate + mint makes my stomach upset. I love the flavor, but I always end up feeling shitty after I eat something minty and chocolaty. So weird.

Last night I made buffalo tempeh for sandwiches and since the hot sauce I used was cheapo stuff it's not spicy enough. Putting sriracha on a buffalo tempeh sandwich: probably not that weird, right?

Our Sky+ box is on the blink. The engineer can't come to look at it till Friday, so I am going to have to manage without tv for 48 hours.

The vegan pet peeves thread is now making me really want oreos but I don't have any and now it's dark and my neighborhood is kind of sketchy so I don't want to walk to the store alone. My life is hard.
