They are worth every extravagant cent. I just made orange chocolate chip Bundt cake tonight to take to work tomorrow. Perfect, as always!

If you aren't picky about the pan pattern, Amazon often has them for a good deal.

My pan greasing woes went away when I started using a 1:1:1 mix of shortening:vegetable oil:flour. Nothing sticks, ever.

The thermostat is in the windowless hallway but the living room where I spend most of my time has a couple of big picture windows in it and about 4 heat vents. So the thermostat either doesn't run when it should, runs when it shouldn't, or when it does finally kick in on a cold day, doesn't shut off until it's boiling in the living room. So I have to adjust it manually all the time.

one of my favorite bars started a trivia night on thursdays, but it starts at 9:00, and i'm too much of an old fart to start having fun that late on a weeknight. why can't they start it at 7:00 like a respectable retirement home? this is a triple PSPTYHWAEPACTYP because the bar is one block from my apartment.

Trivia thread next Thursday. 7pm EST. All about Venger. And the 90s. And the Greatest Hits of Tiffany. Watch me. Start compiling teams. And thinking of team names.

Wait. Am I still running this shebang, or is p-cookie? I already bought a frock.

Sometimes when I use my homemade bitters in cocktails I get too excited and put too many drops in. So now my manhattan is overly bitter.

It is cold and I want to stay home, not go to work. This is extra silly, because unless I fill in for a coworker on Sunday, I don't have to work again until the 2nd. I need to suck it up! Also, I need the money, a lot.

Noooo! I just "marked as read" the fun tire forum, and now I'm lost and feel like I'm missing out on things.

I upgraded my iPhone (this is why I'm in this thread, because seriously, I am complaining about a problem with my fancy asparagus telephone) after like four years of heavy use. No real problem with the old phone-- I was occasionally having trouble charging the battery (the connector for the power cord is ever so slightly damaged) but other than that, no problem.

The first upgrade phone I got lasted less than 3 weeks. Then the screen died quite suddenly and dramatically. Apple replaced it, which wasn't too bad except for the fact that the Apple store at this time of year is like the deepest pit of hell. That was last week. Today, my replacement phone suddenly started being all forked up. It's like the screen is misdetecting input-- I type a letter on the keyboard and it hits the letter two spaces over. I tap an icon on the screen and it clicks an icon diagonally up two places. It's not even consistent in which wrong thing it taps. I've tried rebooting it several times already, next I'll try restoring from a backup, just in case it's a software thing. And then if that doesn't work, then I will haul asparagus BACK to the Apple store four forking days before Christmas which I'm sure will be a blast.

I'm so frustrated though, I just want the forking thing to work.

Are you only having that problem when your phone is plugged in? Because I was having the same problem and figured out it was only happening when the phone was charging. Turned out it was my power cord, which sounds crazy, but getting a new one fixed it!

I just drove 50 minutes round trip to get a latte from the SB with the 24hr drive through and knocked it off my nightstand, spilling all of it. fork.

No mess, at least since I had a towel on the floor for Molly messes that I forgot to pick up.

Poopie, how weird! Mine was doing it with adapter and without, and continued after a restore. Solipsistnation volunteered to take it back to the Apple store alone, for which I am extremely thankful. They said probably hardware, shrug shrug, and gave me another replacement. Yaaay warranty.
