Arugula, I like you as Rhizzo. Arugula was too common. You needed something with some pizazz.

I'm going to miss ChaSiuBao, though. We used to call you CSB. Now ES? ESF?

Her nickname will always be CSB to me.

I planned on using old board names/nicknames to distinguish us Old Boarders from the New Boarders. I'm not sure how else to assert myself without peeing all over everything.

So when are we opening up Rhizzo's cafe?

I was thinking of keeping the name of the cafe the same. While we are on the subject, the cafe does belong in the foyer, not the kitchen, right? Cause it's more about mindless banter and shooting the shiitake than it is actually about food. Should I start the cafe up now or wait till more people are here?

Rhizzo, I say keep the name and open it soon. Are you hiring for the new location? Can I submit an application?

I'm a fan of screennames that are just regular old names. Ego Adah, which incidently is not my real name.

I guess I'll explain it once more for the new boards.

Several years back, my mom and uncle were discussing their grandmother's cooking. My uncle said, "Oh, what was that good dessert she used to make? Blackberry Grumble? No. Something grumble...no, complaint. Raspberry Complaint?" He was trying to think of "blueberry grunt", which is a funny name all it's own. But the "raspberry complaint" made my mom and I laugh so hard. When I signed up for the ppk, I was going crazy trying to think of a name. Finally "raspberry complaint" just popped into my head. I didn't know you could do spaces, so it all became one word. All credit goes to my uncle for this one!

Blackberry Grumble would have been a pretty awesome name too, now that I think of it.

"Dakini" is a term in Tibetan Buddhism for a female embodiment of enlightened energy- it translates into "she who traverses the sky." I always liked that. And I wanted a shorter screen name than "buddhist cupcake", though I did love when people would shortname me "B-cups."

Ok, the cafe is open! Sure, go submit an application over at the cafe.

Mine is my cousin's nickname for me. Jack Black and Kyle from Tenacious D called each other "Jaybles" and "Kaybles" so Ian started called me "Maygles." Not sure why I got a G instead of a B but, whatevs!

I work on Early Modern literature (primarily Shakespeare), and wanted a female character whose name starts with D because A. my real name is Dianne, and B. I like the letter D. Fortunately for me, our first initial is pretty much the extent of what we have in common, since I don't see my boyfriend becoming completely delusional and smothering me in a jealous rage. (At least, I really, really hope not!)

Paprika because my mother is Hungarian and I grew up around a lot of Hungarian paprika-laden food. Papaya because I like alliteration and it sounded nice with paprika, plus I love tropical fruit.

My boyfriend calls me Vicious (or "you vicious bunny"), like the one in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, because I look cute and innocent, but... no.

Image

I added the B in front because it's my first initial, and sometimes people call me B, and it makes it sound like a rapper name.

No I don't fall a lot ;) . I picked it as a camp name for the camp I use to work at and it just kind of stuck. Plus no one was ever able to pick a different name for me.

The spelling is the same but I'd prefer it if you'd all pronounce it as faay-zah, so I feel more vaay-gan.

It's been a reliably effective approach so far; it would be a shame to change it now! As the saying goes, "If it ain't broke," etc.

And here I've been pronouncing it "Luxury Yacccchhht" all this time!

Still annakarenina. Like the Tolstoy character. But I'm not quite so crazy. Thought about capitalizing it, but I was too lazy.

Marcelo wants to register under a new name (Hannah's Boyfriend is outdated now that we're married.) He's really into the SN MarceloBanana. I say it's cute and all, but there are no Marcelo Bananas. Hannah Banana is a normal nickname....it makes sense. Hannah's Husband is an option, as is just Marcelo.

I think his SN should be Jerkstore.

Thoughts?

Sorry, dude. You're always going to be fez-AAAH! because of the beginning of that Toy Dolls song where the lady's voice says, "Ken-DRAAAAH! Olga's on the phone, would you like to speak to him?" So, I hear her calling your name. (And, for goodness sake, would you like to speak to Olga or not?)

I changed from spicyveg because even though I liked it I am trying to keep all my emails, usernames and blog junk the same because i suck at remembering things. And vegan food does rock.
