I remember skating on frozen portions of the Moselle when it was an epic cold winter. And on the Danube. I love outdoor skating, its like flying. I miss Europe.
Lots of snuggles with my baby, and my awesome husband.

The manager of the SPCA op shop where I volunteer gave me a pot of dream cream from lush that a customer had donated but we can't sell. Yay!

I'm going to a birthday dinner for one of my friends tonight! I haven't seen her in months, so I'm super excited to catch up. Also, when she was choosing a place, she texted me to make sure I could get something to eat there before she finalized the plans <3 I was just looking forward to seeing her, and would have been fine if all I had to eat was a plain salad or something, but now I get to eat real food! Yay!

PPKPDXESPLANADEMEETUP! Yes! I got it for the weekend for a test ride and am going to buy it since it fit quite well. I'm going to do a good bit of biking around the waterfront/on trails since I've never ridden a geared bike or anywhere around pedestrians or traffic. So I want to get used to it a bit before I do any in the streets. I got around the waterfront a couple of times this morning which seemed a good start.

Yay bikes! My boss' new boyfriend works at a bike shop, and he's been keeping an eye out for a used (reconstructed) but awesome bike for me, for super cheap since I really can't afford anything new right now. I hope I get it by the spring!

My new job is so awesome. I'm working in a gallery, and I've loved the prep work for setting up our current show, and today we hung it. One of my favorite things to do, generally, is arrange art in spaces (like my apartment, haha) and then sit around and bask in the glory of how awesome it looks. So, this job was basically made for me. And my boss (who is super rad and who I have known for a very long time) acted like I did a great job with everything, which made me feel nice!

OK, even better than a 32-dog run... dinner with my aunt (and my mom and sister and bil and biker boy.) My aunt is just so fun and I don't see enough of her even though she's right across the border.

At the college (16-19 year olds) where I work, all of the students and staff use first names. Instead of Gulliver, one of them called me Gandalf today. I'm used to people remembering "something unusual beginning with G" and coming up with Gideon or Gallifrey or something, but I'm quite happy with this one.

A friend who has a baking business is leaving the country for 6 months and sold me her remaining kilo (just over 35 ounces) of chocolate chips for cost price (and she'd got it on sale anyway).
This is good, as I was contemplating buying 6 kilos since then I'd get free postage, but I'm not sure it would be healthy or useful for me to have that much chocolate in the house!

At a camp I worked at, there was a 6 year old named Gustavo and everyone was always messing up his name like that! Also: ijdi, panacotta droolin over here.

we're back home and the cockatiel is in better shape than i expected him to be. he's extremely weak but he's eating, and he is overjoyed to be with FC- singing nonstop. we're trying to keep him quiet, safe, and with his favorite foods in easy reach.
also, i brought home a carload of beermaking supplies. no beermaking in the forecast for the next few weeks (too busy) but it's coming soon.

Today and yesterday: finished my infinity scarf and submitted the last piece of documentation for my grad school apps. Two major things off my birthday list!

A while back my coworkers bought me a gift certificate to a freaking SPA. Tomorrow I'm going for a vichy shower and facial. omg. It is a really lovely natural and organic spa and I am going to have the best time ever! I feel super run down so it is well needed, and then I have ballet class, so basically tomorrow is the best thing ever.
