What was the best thing about your day?

Happy hour

That sounds sort of dismal, but for reals... It was my first day back to work after vacation and I returned to find that we're in the middle of being audited. Our receptionist is going crazy trying to keep everyone in line and make it go OK, plus my boss has been torturing her in my absence. I thought she could use a margarita so we hit happy hour and had a good ol' bitchfest about work and exes, but also how great our currrent guys are. It was fun.

Leaving campus five hours early. It sucks to miss a class, but I feel like crepe and being home at least makes me hate everything a little less.

CQ's package arrived and it's full of awesome. Handmade gloves! And scarf in my favourite colors! And tons of sweets! And a lovey card full of stars!

After being horribly sick since Monday - I am feeling like I am getting better!

This was a good day. First, I got evaluated by my mentor in clinical training. She said a lot of nice things, and we had exactly the same view of what I need to work more on. Felt great!

Then my husband came home with tulips, beer and candy (my birthday is this weekend). The man who said "You'll have to do all the cooking" when I said I wanted to go vegan, actually read all the ingredient lists on the pick-and-mix candy!

I did about 1,000,000 things today. Listened to West Side Story Soundtrack; Did laundry; Drove to the other side of the city; Packed all my friends' belongings; Crammed them all into a Smart Car; Took all those belongings to his storage unit; Went to Grocery Outlet and scored green tea soy ice cream; Went home and got my dog; Took my dog and a couple boxes of friends stuff to another different other side of the city; Dropped those boxes off with someone; Got an apple fritter; Drove home and picked up a bunch of plants, soil and tools; Took those to local coffee shop where I'm being paid to plant and maintain some planter boxes; Weeded the boxes and planted the plants in them; Went home and finished laundry.

That's where I'm at now. There are plans still to make a thai stir fry with my friend and go to a dance party.

So best thing is not so much any one thing, but the fact that I got all of that done. Love being productive.

An assortment of awesome things: Acquired my parents' really nice copper and steel paella pan that I've been obsessed with for years. Turned in research proposal for a really cool project this summer and had a productive conversation with a prof about an issue that's been stressing me out beyond belief since yesterday.

New house!

It's got the same amount of bedrooms as our current house but is bigger overall, has lots of storage space plus a dishwasher. It doesn't have a garden but that's good for us as we're both terrible gardeners, however it has a yard so we can attempt to grow things in tubs. We'll need to get a sofa and a freezer but that's no problem. Just got to let our current landlady know we won't be renewing our contract when it ends.

Climbing a 5.12 at the gym today! I've been working toward it for a while now. I'm a bit concerned though, because 5.11s are feeling easier to me and the gym doesn't set anything harder than a 5.12. I might have to switch to bouldering and lead climbing for more of a challenge soon!

Also, I made a huge pot of chili and it's super yummy.

Instead of working on revisions for my paper I spent the afternoon snuggled my pup on the couch, watched youtube videos, and ate peanut butter puffs cereal with chocolate chips on top. So happy right now!

Stopped by my favorite vegan restaurant ever and chatted with the owner about getting fired. Turns out she used to work there years ago and disliked it also. She not only gave me a good job lead but is going to give me a recommendation. Also bought 2 of the best cupcakes ever.

Finding out somebody who you very much admire thinks you are pretty cool? Forking awesome.

Hellz yeah! Roasted vegetable pizza, falafel, pasta arrabbiata, hummus, soy yogurt that wasn't a gazillion dollars, chocolate, and some other stuff I can't remember right now. YAY.
