Winning at tough asanas (various balancing acts) is awesome. Ditto amazing raw chocolates made by my friend.

Walking to work in the sunshine with a perfect clear sky. I realized the day before that I'm totally suffering from SAD, so today felt extra lovely. That sun on my back felt amazing! I can't wait for spring!

Finally had the time to sit down and listen to the Bowie album streaming. Holy shiitake. All I have to say.

I got half of an assignment that's due Thursday done. I thought it would take me longer than it did and am pleasantly surprised that it didn't. My mountain of shiitake is still pretty big but it's nice to be at least one step closer to having things under contra.

Wow, beethecookie, that's awesome! Congrats!! I hope he absolutely loves being vegan! After 7 years of coupledom my husband went vegetarian this fall, and what did it for him was a trip to Farm Sanctuary. We stayed in the cabin there and got our own private tour the next day. I think that one-on-one contact with the animals really got to him. Never thought I would see it happen -- he bragged to me when we first met that he ate a 12x12 at In 'n Out and his favorite restaurant was a Brazilian BBQ meat-a-palooza place. So, ya never know! Now I'm working on getting him to give up the dairy and eggs :-P

I'm hosting a vegan grocery shopping tour next Saturday, and the event is full with a longish waiting list. Add to that my new mentee this week, and I feel all goobery and blushing.

I'm out of nooch right now, so all I can think of is "that could buy a lot of nooch!" Same here I'm getting more back than expected (as in, I'd completely forgotten about taxes so it is surprise money)... I've been out of nooch for 2 weeks and it was the first thing I thought of when I did my taxes. Second thing was that I should probably get health insurance, this can cover a few months at least and minimize my potential penalty when I do taxes next year (MA has a tax penalty if you don't have health insurance and make more than the poverty line or something). Third thing was that I could put a bit of it toward a tattoo (my tats tend to be cheap since I only use black ink and like small ones).

Definitely the gorgeous sunshine bike ride I did around the lake at sunset -- and then surprising my friend d. at home, where she gifted me a gorgeous raw chocolate truffle she just made. Now I'm at home rocking out to Le Vent du Nord. Life's great!

Filed taxes (finally!) and discovered that not only do we not owe this year, but our refund will cover most of what we still owe (and have been paying off) from last year.

i went to the gym today and while i was on the treadmill the local TV news ran a story about a course I just taught (job retraining, featuring a few women being retrained as city bus drivers.). The entire gym turned and stared at me while I giggled and avoided eye contact with everyone and pretended to concentrate on my run. embarrassing, but in a good way.

I went shopping with some girlfriends from work and then out for curry. I normally HATE shopping, and even more so shopping with other people, but it was super fun just trying a bunch of stuff on at H&M and then buying next to nothing. And my curry was delicious. Palak Aloo with vegan garlic naan and multiple chutnies. Super spicy. Good conversation. Great day!

I live in a big house that has been split into smaller apartments, and apparently 5 of the tenants are vegan! I recently found out that my next-door neighbour is vegan, so I decided to bring over some of the macarons I made, and I was surprised with cupcakes - her husband was like "VEGAN SWAP!" hahaha.

GORGEOUS day outside; 17c and sunny, feels like summer! I rocked it by speed-cycling around the lake in short sleeves and a skirt, hanging out on a dock in the sun, walking through the market and sitting at a cafe with a cute veg chick I'm pretty sure I have a crush on.
