My boss just told me how much easier I make his job on payroll weeks and how much of a great contribution I make to the department in general.

I managed to walk to the hair salon and get a haircut. This is a big thing for me this week.

I also did my taxes. With fed, MN, and renter's rebate combined, I'm looking at a $1359 refund. Whoot!

First load of outside dried laundry of the year! Also, I slept in till 3.30 pm after not being able to sleep at all yesterday night, so I finally feel human again. Then I opened all windows in the house, let the spring air in and cleaned the flat. It's 5.30 now and I already did so much !

Learning about Unfuck Your Habitat and the Unfilth Your Habitat app. Seriously. This is just what I needed.

Where do you live and when can I move in?? NO KIDDING! We have found the location of the PPKOmmune, and it is apparently Vancouver. I'll make everyone super awesome vegan agedashi tofu, first order of business. My best: I just finished 32 pages of translation at an unheard-of speed (for me). Despite having had a malfunction and lost the first ten pages, redoing them, and then having to frantically research formatting solutions for stupid-head power point. i am the translation ninja, apparently.

It's kind of a weird thing, but I spent the day at the hospital with my boyfriend, who was having an outpatient surgical procedure done. It's not awesome that he has this health issue that he has to deal with, but it is inspiring to me that after a prolonged rough patch in his life, he is so dedicated to moving forward and taking positive steps in his life, even when they're uncomfortable or scary. It also makes me happy that he wants me to be there with him, and that my presence makes him feel better and helps him deal with stuff. He's pretty great.

Oh HURRAH C&S! That is awesome!
JoPa, I hope your boyfriend has a quick and complete convalescence.
Yay, translation ninja!

Two of my CogSci friends (who don't know each other) are at a fancy pants "summer" school in Brazil right now, currently plotting the best way to tag the other person with a post-it note that says "HUG FROM LUTIN" and catch it on film. So ridiculous, and yet, so awesome. I keep on getting updates from each of them, as well as queries about the grand prize for winning at this ridiculous game.

Oh! Wait. This is actually pretty cool: Today my grad programme hosted a PhD event on mindfulness & yoga. The co-organizer and I are both veg., so we arranged for the lunch to be pure veg., equally vegan and vegetarian. At the end of the event, all of the vegan sandwiches were gone, and a handful of the veg. ones were still there (and packed up/delivered to our labs). The vegan lunch was awesome (tapenade, roasted veggies + focaccia) and I'm so pleased that it was nom'd first.

Couldnt focus on my work. Assuming certain foods help the brain to concentrate, I did a quick Google search. I'm now starting a special chocolate diet.

Actually getting things done for once. Well, enough where I won't lie awake at night and berate myself for not being more productive.
