Congrats Eeee, and congrats MBM!
It's early in the day still to be calling bests, but I took my coffee out to the garden (which is pretty much just a very sad looking dirt strip with nothing immediately visible except snap peas and some garlic) and discovered that a bunch of new things are sprouting! Hyssop, lettuces, and a big planter full of container carrots. I'm so happy about this.

I didn't get it either but I liked that 'Wanker's Corner' led to Portland. If it is about real places, I totally want to go to 'Cumbum'.

While doing a classroom program on the earth, moon and sun, a 1st grader just stands up and comes and points at an animation of the solar system from above. He then decided to just hijack the program to teach everyone about how Uranus is a Saturn. He was so absolutely sure of this, Uranus is a Saturn. I tried to tactfully say "yeah, Uranus has rings just like Saturn." But he then again insisted that its "a Saturn" and we are really gonna learn some day that it is, indeed "a saturn." Like he was telling us about something that would save our lives if we believed it or something. He pushed us out of the way to point and stuff. It was kind of amazing.

From yesterday, PPK meetup Boston special guests choirqueer and joyfulgirl!! The actual best part was CQ's reaction to Veggie Galaxy's lemon meringue pie. That will forever live on as a moment that makes me squee for the adorableness of CQ (and how good that pie is)!

We got to hang out with a rescued Flemish Giant 25lb bunny and a rescued Pekin duck. It was amazing. Leela thought the bunny was a dog and squeaked "duck! Duck! Duck!" The whole ride home. Now we are home and she is kissing all the animals.

It was amazing, because we don't go to a lot of things with animals, because of the exploitation concerns, and going to something run by a rescue concerned with raising awareness of duck and bunny issues was so great. I learned a ton, and am so amazed by ducks and bunnies now. This is Hope the 25lb bunny and a pre-schooler. And this is Fred, fake flying :) The duck, Fred, was actually hatched at the pre-school, and so she (they discovered that she was a female when they found an egg in her diaper - yes its a duck in a diaper!) imprinted on the children and their voices and thinks she is a pre-schooler. Its so cute, because she imprinted most on the naughtiest little boy, because he spent the most time in the principal's office, so she heard his voice through her shell as she was developing, which is amazing. Fred loves hugs, so she would chatter and waddle around and then go to the principal and ask for a hug, which means that she would just relax completely into the principal's arms and drape over her shoulder. She was so soft and fluffy too - weighs only 7lbs but looks 3 times bigger than a mallard. ! Oh and she liked to fake fly around the room. Domestic ducks can't fly, so she likes to flap her wings and quack and have the principal (to whom she is superbonded) run around the room holding her like she was flying.
