A friend of mine recently went vegan (woo!), and she's still pretty new to it so she asked me to make her Easter meal because she wants it to be special. We talked about the menu and decided on basil-ricotta stuffed Gardein cutlets, cheesy scalloped potatoes, roasted brussels sprouts, and olive focaccia, with chocolate-dipped coconut macaroons for dessert. I'm so super excited about it, and she's already talking about getting me to make future holiday meals and maybe even do some regular personal-cheffing for her!

Wait, poopiebitch, is that an option? I'd move to Memphis for that.

So glad to hear that, geeksweetheart! I hope it continues to shrink!!

I get to see my sweetie today. We've been super schedule-challenged the last couple of weeks and it's been bumming me out. But a minor car trouble/silver lining thing means we have a little free time this evening. It might just be an hour of couch snuggles but it'll get me through 'til we can spend some proper time together on Sunday.

I went to another interview (I KNOW, so many goddamn interviews). I approached this interview as a victory lap-- I have an offer from someone else that I was already reasonably certain I'd take, and honestly unless these guys suggest something very worth my while very quickly, I'm going to take the first offer. And you know what? It really did feel like a victory lap. They asked me two solid hours of technical questions and while I didn't get every question right, I got the majority correct and feel so forking competent right now.

The one I'm probably taking is a low-level systems programming job. The one I'm probably not taking is a lower-layer network driver testing and development job. (Where low-level is low in the system, not low as in low in the company hierarchy.) Both of them sound like fun! I often think I should have been born 30 years earlier as a beardy dude, so that I could just program C in a cave somewhere without anyone bothering me. These two jobs are probably about as close as I can get in the modern day.

Oh I like network programming myself. So you'll be doing C? C never goes out of style!

Just got confirmation that I am getting a big tax return this year, which is sorely needed as I have been broke broke broke since the surgery. Hurray!

It's totally an option, but don't move to Memphis (trust me)! Just hire me as your private live-in chef and I will move to you!

Yes. There is a *small* fee for transportation/lodging. I will send a PayPal invoice.

My new band had rehearsal at my apartment tonight. We ate matzah ball soup, which I finally made today after (somehow surviving) 10+ years of no matzah balls, and then we sang sea shanties for two hours, pausing between songs so we could screech about how great we are. Can this just be my life all the time?

I brought one of my turtles to work with me today, thinking that the showroom would be very quiet because of the holiday. Turns out I was completely wrong. Lots of customers. Anyway - they all saw her and she made them happy! She walked around the whole place all day and finally just fell asleep in a corner. No one seemed to mind that she was here (my bosses wouldn't like it though!) She was safe and I think she really had a great time.

Meeting my best friend's new BF who actually seems like a really nice guy. It's good Ecuador she gravitates towards overly good looking asswads.
