It was a decision I thought about for at least half a year and waited several months till I lost enough weight before I acted on it... but I bought myself new motorcycle clothing today.

The "it doesn't get much better than this" kind.

Now I occasionally feel like "omg I hope this works out and that it's the right size", or glowing with the feeling that I get when I think how (for me) this outfit oozes "damn serious hardcore biker", and most important of all that kind of new feeling to me of "I am SO worth the investment I made".

Sometimes thinking about it gives me goosebumps.

That's great! What did you get? Where will you go to test it all out?

I got a Rukka Armas Jacket with matching pants

I'll wear it if the weather is not too warm cause it seems it's not so suitable for really warm weather, and I'm considering to wear it on my trip in the U.S (mostly cause my current pants are no longer waterproof)

I met up with friends for dinner! I haven't seen them since classes finish last month, so it was awesome to see them again. And I got to meet the dog of one of them that is seriously the cutest thing ever. She's a chow something mix and is just a giant ball of fluffy sweetness.

I had an absolutely brilliant lesson today with a class who are normally extremely challenging.

Good Luck! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and sending good vibes.
In return you can send all your nervousness to me and I'll take care of those feelings for you.

That is such an incredibly thoughtful comment! You are the kind of person that give people faith in humanity. (Also, way to treat yourself to some well-deserved bike gear! You are worth it!)

Had an amazing time at a Punks Against Cancer gig, made new friends, saw awesome bands and enjoyed wonderful weather. I forget how much I love summer until it's here.

Yesterday's best thing, but whatever. My adviser and his partner took Boyfiend and me out to dinner and it was the best thing. I love him. He's one of my favourite people in the world and Boyfiend now understands my love. And I think my adviser likes Boyfiend too! I don't generally spend a lot of time worrying about sexuality, but he's an older, effeminate gay man in a long term stable relationship and I'm thankful to have him as a mentor. So I guess the real best thing is that my adviser is stepping into a role in my life I didn't realise was missing/I needed and it's good.

And he liked the vegan restaurant we went to!

Everyone... meet the Mars Rover

Dude, that it totally sweet.

"The Mars Rover" is a better name than what I'd call it-- probably something like "The Technical" or something, because I am a different type of nerd. But man, I covet those little Toyota pickups. They're basically immortal. You could literally shoot holes in it and it would still get you around, which is, I guess, why they get used as technicals. That's actually kind of my current attainable dream car right now.

I have short pink hair and glasses and a lot of tattoos and was wearing a black dress with a cat face on it.

Omg. I did see you. I told my friend that I almost bought that dress at H&M thr other day but didn't think I could pull it off. I was sitting on the steps outside eating a hot dog when you walked by.

Neat! I didn't stay long because I had to work and I went by myself so felt awkward. So I kind of walked fast past the socializing people feeling like a dork.

Finally stopped dicking around and gathered together all the receipts from the theft we had last year. Even with depreciation and the deductible, I found out we'll get a really good amount to settle the claim. Yay! I wasn't sure how much depreciation they would calculate and while that really just pays us back for replacing some of it, it's more than I expected so that's nice. Between this and getting more than I expected for my car, I feel like this is the first month in a while where I don't have to dip into savings.

We had poopieboy's birthday party out at my parents' house today, and it was so great. It was just family plus my really good friend and her family (she's like my honorary sister), and the weather was SO uncharacteristic for July, just gorgeous. We spent the whole afternoon/evening outside, playing and swinging on porch swings, the kids played with bubbles, and pulled each other around in the red wagon, and we grilled out (I made beet burgers and Field Roast frankfurters) and we ate out on the porch, then my dad gave the kids tractor rides, and my sister saddled up two of their horses and they got to ride them, and we had strawberry cake, and Peter got some really cool gifts, and we had a bonfire after it got dark. It was the best day.

Actually, the best thing might be getting verbal interference from the Hindi and Tamil songs I'm listening to, which means I keep on making funny Hinglish mistakes in the doc I'm trying to write.

That is super awesome. Do you speak Hindi? I absolutely adore that accent, which always makes me want to learn it.

I do speak Hindi! It's gorgeous -- also the accent in English. Do you speak it?

My dad and I are going to the Tatra Mountains together in August, and he keeps on sending cute emails with updates about his plan-making-progress. (Which I can't contribute to because, Polish.)
