Best thing about my day yesterday was that I got my boyfriend to eat pasta and "meat"balls without cheese on it, and not only that but he tried nooch and liked it! Baby steps! Also I received la Dolce Vegan through the post. And spent the day out in the sun with a group of friends. I had fun :)

Returned from an brief jaunt to the Norfolk coast ... wonderful cool breezes off the sea at Cromer and the calm splendour of Blakeney Point ... lots of vegetable plates to eat along with homemade sorbets ...

For the cause I had an excellent conversation with the owner of a non-chain Italiancoffee house / eatery where I extolled the benefits offering vegan dishes on his menu & how so many are true to the Italian food he is serving.

Yesterday I found a place right down the street from me that has delicious vegan ice cream ranging from cookie dough to durian. I had a brownie sundae (vegan brownie!) with chocolate PB ice cream and came home and took a nap.

Climbing-ventures with a new friend! He was awesome. And so was climbing-bouldering action, and feeling so much strength and stretch in my whole body.

I used to do a lot of work with kids who have physical or intellectual disabilities. My absolute favourite was a young girl with cerebral palsy. We became very close and I credit my time with her as helping me overcome my crippling shyness and extremely low self-confidence. I was just reminiscing and I thought that she's in high school now, so maybe she has facebook. So I went to look, and she does.

In all her pictures, she looks so happy. It seems like she's doing really well. I am so, so happy. I worked with her right from when she was a very shy and nervous 8 year old to when she was a much more confident 14 year old. She will be turning 16 this year. I'm not sure if it is appropriate for me to add her as a friend or not. I might see if I can find her family's number and just call to let them know that I think about them... we used to talk on the phone regularly, so I might still have it.

The House of Lords passed the marriage bill! I celebrated with ice cream and cookies.

Aww, this is really sweet to read. I would definitely get in touch with them if you can!

Back in March I was bitten by a cat, which resulted in my tendon being shredded, an initial infection requiring hospitalization, hand surgery which revealed a bone infection requiring six weeks of IV antibiotics and a couple months of PT to regain use of my hand. I went to my last follow up today and there's no sign of infection and the tendon has healed well. So glad this is over!

We have just decided to visit New York for a holiday next year. We haven't been on holiday since 2009! Mr8 is made up at the idea of gluten free bagels.

I'm going to Chester. I'm taking my mum, who has had a bit of a bad year. Not as exciting as New York, but I'm looking forward to it!

Go to Coffee Crusade. The lady who runs it is fantastic and changed the recipes she used to vegan ones when she found out that me and my housemate were vegan. Lovely place!

Writing about my time in CA / with grandma to my sister, and then sharing it. Feeling strength from that, and also all the climbing and adventuring I've started to do.

Cool, Chester's great. I was born there but I haven't been back for about 17 years.

The Queen says same-sex marriages are "totes amazeballs" and has declared them the law of the land of England and Wales. In practice, the law won't come into force for a year, and frankly I'd prefer it if gay marriage was mandatory and you were allotted at burly manwife the age of 18, but this is a good compromise.

Why is it only England and Wales and not Scotland and Northern Ireland as well?

Biker boy had to run to the store this morning and surprised me with a Mighty-O donut (french toast flavor, which is possibly the best flavor.)

Here a cloudy day today. When I open my eyes I feel much pleasure to see the sky cover with clouds. Cool breeze was blowing and it’s make me happy because it was very hot yesterday. Now I want it rain and I enjoy it.
