Water dispenser at work used to say "not a drain" and someone changed it to say "matt a damon." It doesn't take much to please me, apparently.

Haha, that would please me too! I love signs changed to say something silly. I saw a bathroom sign that changed "must wash hands" to "must wash anus" but blocking out parts of the letters. It was genius.

I bought used bags for my motorcycle (cause I melted one this weekend) and it turns out they are black which I couldn't see that well on the pictures.
This means they will match with my other top case in a good way.

On 2nd place : heard that the department manager reported the behaviour of my team-leader to Human Resource. Maybe there is hope for the future after all.
(team-leader seems nice but can respond in an unexpected sometimes almost explosive way when he's under stress)

A friend sent me some Vegg. I'm excited.

I'm too scared to ask how you melted saddle bags.

The right exhaust comes closer to the bag than the left...which never was a problem with speeds up to 85 mph. But apparently with speeds up to nearly 120 mph the pipe and exhaust gas becomes too hot for the bag.

I had 2 E36 cases and now have 2 used E45 cases http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi ... ggage-case

I'm so happy to read all the best things in this thread! Yay for good things happening to people I like.

My best thing is that after almost a month of feeling like I'm just spinning my wheels and just general overwhelming stuff, I kind of feel like I'm catching up. I got my order delivered on time yesterday, even after having a friend over in the morning so I could teach her to bake bread (four loaves yesterday!). I even got a shower like a real human person. And now my house is clean (well, most of it is, anyway), Christmas is put away, there are actual food ingredients in my kitchen for meals I've actually planned, I managed to cook dinner today while taking care of the baby so we got to eat at 6pm like normal people, I got poopieboy to bed at 8pm, and now I have apricots on the stove simmering in earl grey (for jam purposes), which is making my house smell wonderful. For the first time in weeks, there is nothing pressing to do, and no one needs me right at this moment. Ahhhhhh.

Molly is bouncing around and chatty and stealing udon noodles and carrots and her little eye looks back to normal!

I have no idea how that awful, swollen black eye healed so quickly, but I'm so relieved.

Poopie, I need you to send me some of that jam. Stat! So hop to it.

(After enjoying your well deserved peace, of course)

Thanks you guys! LW, I'm still fine-tuning the recipe, but maybe I'll wrap some up really well and send it your way so you can test it for me :)

As I was typing the above I heard my last jar lid 'pop'. I love the chorus of lids sealing after processing a batch of something yummy!

Went on a field trip with friends to visit a friend who works at a (mostly horse) rescue. Saw horses who were all chubby and fluffed up for winter (I grew up with horses and miss them!) plus got to pet some other rescue animals including a piggy(!), alpacas, HUGE goats that were bred for meat but are living happy, natural-length lives, dwarf goats and a mini steer.

All the animals were super happy, although the pig was apparently put out by the cold weather and had spent most of the day in his heated stall. The goats and steer live in the same paddock and when I quit petting one goat to say hi to the steer, the goat walked up behind me and tugged on my jacket. I almost died of cuteness. Then I pet him some more and he was happy.

NatureBoy and I managed to talk each other into a rainy walk in the forest. We were both hesitating even when we got out of the car, but once we were stomping about in mud (up to even *his* giant waist) and rain, life was beautiful! I'm so happy we went.

I decided to splurge and buy the first two episodes of Downton Abbey season 4 from Amazon (they broke the premier 2 hour ep into 2 so they could charge you twice, aren't they peaches?) since the PBS player isn't working. So I've been huddling under a blanket with my cat and eating sandwiches while watching. It's been quite nice.

I splurged on some expensive, technical longjohns. I am going to be SO WARM.

I want to try lots of new things this year and I've done two tonight - made sushi and slow cooker pizza. The sushi was delicious and I'm waiting on the pizza.

Our electric blanket that stopped working last years is miraculously working again! Now I'm excited to go to bed.

Go to a Lebanese restaurant if you have one near you! The lady who works in the place I went to said Lebanese baklava is typically vegan because it includes sugar water instead of honey. I think Turkish baklava is vegan as well.
