I think you should write your own submission and call it Orc Lovin'.

I would love a series of Orc romance novels. Maybe one could be called "You Better Orc (Orc it Girl)"

I've found a sign language course that starts today (like, in 45 minutes), is a fifteen minute drive from my house, and that work might partly reimburse me for as "they need more signers". I love it when someone says they'll pay for something you were going to do anyway. Yay!

Although the teacher turned up, the people who had the keys to the building didn't. Foiled again. Sigh...

Despite not yet having a venue or supports confirmed people are already coming to our album launch gig, including the folks from the record label. Plus a local DJ asked for promo tracks for them to plug on his two shows!

My mom called to see if I was Ok and to tell me that she's thinking of me. It was something small, but it meant the world to me, and it's something that she does often too, so I don't know why it was such a big deal. I think because I've been feeling so sick and have been so depressed (hormones are fun). It's nice to feel loved and know people care.

I sent an email to set up an appointment with a therapist specializing in all the issues I need to work through. She seems like a very promising match for me, so I'm hoping we can find time to schedule something, and that my insurance covers the majority of it!

This is a huge step for me, since I am an expert in avoidance coping and running away from any possible problems. I'm nervous to go through the piles of crepe that I know I'll have to, but it feels good to finally get this started.

This is so great, and is something I can't wait to do as my future parent-self. It's kinda crazy that some parents (mine) don't do this!

It's only a 5kg as I don't really know what I'm doing yet. The internets said that's about right for a beginner so I got it.

I started with a 4kg and got hooked. Now I'm using anything up to a 24kg, but that's rare. I regularly use 12, 14 and 16kg. It's so awesome for your abdominals that I can see mine at 35% body fat.

Yes. So much yes. My mother only calls (or texts, mostly) when she wants something. Same with both of my older sisters, even though I have made huge efforts in the past to stay in contact with all of them. I gave up because it was too emotionally draining to always be the one initiating contact and it was rarely reciprocated. So it actually makes me really, really happy to read that there ARE parents out there who call their kids to check on them. It gives me hope that I can be one of those parents when poopieboy grows up.

Back home. Dad hanging steady. Will hope for good news in the morning.

I had a boiling hot shower, used an obnoxious amount of all my carefully hoarded Chanel no5 bath products, made an enormous White Russian, and am settling down with a book and Molly snuggles after the birds finish nomming on their toast with jelly and almond butter. At least I feel much more relaxed and ok about things. What an awful day.

I've been looking at kettle bell workouts, so this is heartening.

They took the breathing tube out on schedule. He is groggy and out of sorts, but awake. He called the nurses diabolical (they seem very nice today).

Everything is going well this morning. I pretty much just fell to pieces from relief.
