Found several pairs of new earplugs in the bathroom. Yesssssss.
(Background: I am recovering from a concussion. All the sounds are too sounds-y. Earplugs means stuff sounds normalish again! Hooray!)

I recorded some parts for a comedy play-type-thing. I'm going to be part of the Leicester Comedy Festival! It came together really well, too, and I'm excited to hear it in its finished form next Saturday. I play a reporter, a vampire and also some angry villagers!

15 pain-free miles run and, more importantly, very little post-run pain (my hip has been giving me fits for two weeks.) Oh yeah, and Seattle won the Superbowl. nbd.

My students were absolute sweethearts today. My coteacher told them why I was out all week and many came and gave me hugs, and lots of them said very sweet things to me. It is sort of funny, but the sweetest, most caring ones were the ones who tend to act like jerks half the time. Go figure! They are good kids, but I was so touched by their maturity. I know it's so hard to know what the fizzle to say to somebody, so it's easier not to say anything (that's the path my coworkers and boss seem to be taking)

The klonopin is helping me stay calm, so if kept busy and got through the day.

My long drive was kind of hard, but then I started blasting my Madonna, PSB, Adam Lambert, and Boy George happy playlist and it helped. My dad got me the new Bluetooth stereo for my car for Christmas and we went and installed it a few weeks ago. He was so excited about it.

So, everything considered, today was a good day. The kids need me and I was able to pull through for them.

I am glad you were able to get through the day, Lava! It's so hard to get back into doing "normal" everyday things after something like that.
I lost my wallet last night. Luckily some friends were able to loan me a few bucks for ingredients that i need. I looked all over my apartment and could not find it. This morning, as soon as i got up, there it was: sitting in the doorway to my bedroom with a pile of cash next to it.
I swear it wasn't there yesterday, and i am only kindasure that i had that much cash in it to begin with. Thank you, otherwordly being who was kind enough to find my wallet. Your kindness will not go unnoticed.

Update: so apparently some guy came by last night and gave the wallet to my roomie, who left it in my doorway. Which is awesome! But the weird part is that nothing in my wallet has this address on it, so i have no idea how he knew where i lived. I am still going to offer some cupcakes to the spirits because my gut tells me they were helping out on this way.

LW, I'm so glad your students were kind and thoughtful and well behaved. Sorry your boss and coworkers can't be the same. Happy music sounds like a good idea. Maybe I should get a play list from you some time.

Today is my ten year anniversary of meeting solipsistnation (who I later married and stuff)! It was an unlikely beginning but here we are all the same. Reflecting on it, it's been pretty good.

The other best thing is I saw cows on my run! Including one cow who trotted alongside me for a while with this attitude like I'm going to follow you, you seem to know what's going down.

I was kind of afraid that Agnes, my sick cat, had started to hate me because of all the medications I'm giving her, but right now she is lying on top of me purring. I have things to do but she probably doesn't have much time left so she gets as much cuddle time as she wants.

My friend is staying with me at the moment and when I got home from work yesterday she had hoovered downstairs, put on some candles, made me a wonderful daal for dinner and bought me a pug cushion. That was a good day :)

A friend and her baby boy took me to the hospital, and helped me talk to the neuro specialist (including the long, boring neuro test). I got sleepy boy snuggles! And passed the test! And got scheduled for an MRI ("in 2-3 weeks")! They still have no advice but rest and also rest, but I'm happy they looked at me and that I got a 5-hr long cat-in-the-sun nap as soon as my friend brought me home.

My boss has asked me in the past to give him a heads up when applying for other jobs, in order to help him plan for my possible absence (he's always sure I'll get whatever job I interview for, I think, which is nice) and so that he can put in a good word for me. When he's told me that, he was usually referring to jobs within the company, but at a different location. Well, I have an interview with another institution next week, and I felt awkward telling him about it (because I doubt people normally tell their boss when they're interviewing for other jobs), but I figured that would be a respectful thing to do. Well, he was SO excited for me, and he told me to use him as a reference and he said he would contact the people he knew there to put in a good word for me. Yay!

Stood downtown in the freezing cold with 700,000 of my closest friends for the Superbowl victory parade. No, really, it was fun. That many people all excited about the same thing is strangely energizing.

Dudes, sounds are way, way less soundy today. Also, I found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1I4O4FS2QbI . And have been on one sunshine walk, and will go on another. I feel more myself today. Brain bits are still not quite working right, but stuff's starting to feel a bit better.
