Slept for 12 hours last night. Feel like it's been weeks since I actually slept more than 3 hours a night.

Happy Birthday Gunk!

So glad you got good sleep lutin! I hope you can heal up quickly! It sounds like this concussion has really taken a toll on you.

Just finished this week's Korean lesson: My teacher gave me two "flawless"es, one "wow," and seven hearts! (For my writing and for my exercises in the textbook.) I assume it will be the highlight of my week, as well.

One of my "flawless" things (from the notebook where I write about my week): 더 얘기하면 더 배울거에요. (배우러 가요.) "If I chat more, I will learn more. (I'm going [to a Korean language meet-up] in order to learn." (This also earned two hearts.)

And my week-making sentence that earned a "flawless" and a "wow" was my translation of this sentence in the textbook: "Even though the girlfriend's mother was there, he undid his necktie." (여자친구 어머니가 있었어도 그 사람이 넥타이 풀었어요.)

I AM ROCKING IT.

Anyone who undid their tie in front the mother of the girlfriend would be sternly reprimanded if I had my way.

I got a new client and she's vegan which is awesome and she misheard my day rate as my visit rate and was cool with that. So I'm getting paid more (I way undecharge because I Suck at thinking I'm worth paying.) I need to raise my anyway.

for pet sitting, right?

can I ask how much you charge? I used to pet sit in san diego and i'm just curious what rates here are like.
this was 8ish years ago and we charged $40/day for staying over or $15 per visit. but luckily it wasn't my business, it was another vet tech i worked with, so she would just give me the jobs and pay me so i didn't have to actually deal with asking for money.

Thanks! It's a comforting feeling, isn't it?
Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone! I had dinner at the new Loving Hut and it was pretty good.

Gosh I wish that were the rate here! We are going away for two weeks in August and the $40rate would be amazing. It's 15 for a walk.

No worries - hope you're ok. Yes, we'll be at the same place on 27 June for a punk and ska night. I'll post details on Facebook nearer the time.

On the way home today I saw a honey bee sitting on the pavement near our house, looking a bit off colour. Mr8 is great with all creatures so he managed to get the little chap to climb onto a piece of card. We took it home and I prepared it some sugar water for it but just as we were about to put the bee by the drink it flew off. I guess it was just tired and needed a sit down. I'm glad we got it somewhere that it wouldn't be stepped on.

This evening we went to see Therapy? at Rock City. I've been a fan for 20 years and this was my first time. They played Teethgrinder!!

Last night was my night to serve dinner for my a cappella group!!!! The menu: lemony-cuminy kale dal, aloo gobi saag, crunchy tandoori chickpeas, mango pumpkin pudding, and nutella-stuffed chocolate chip cookies (with homemade nutella of course). Everyone was thrilled with the food and it was super fun. I live mostly-by-myself so I hardly ever get to cook for anyone but myself, so it's always really exciting for me when it's my turn to cook dinner for rehearsal :D

I charge $15 a visit , plus extra if there is medical stuff involved ($5-$10, depending on the time it takes). $40 overnight with dogs .$15 for a dog walk. But I have been doing two visits a day for $25 total. My super rich client pays me between $70-$100 depending on what I'm doing (she has nine cats and two dogs and I'm in charge of vet trips and grooming visits) I also get extra for waiting time at the vet. Since I'm almost exclusively on the UES serving people with a lot of money I could charge more. $15 a walk is standard for dogs everything else is very variable.

Neil Patrick Harris as Hedwig. Most amazing performance I've ever seen on any stage ever. I'm so blown away I can't even go to bed.

I contacted an old friend who I haven't seen in 10 or 15 years through facebook a while ago, and visited her last Sunday.

Today is Tuesday and when I think about that, it still makes me smile.

Feeling a bit better. I still have one more day off before I have to go back to work. Hopefully, I won't be feeling dizzy on Thursday.
