I got my hair done and it looks super cute! Nothing out of the ordinary, but it's nice to have a hairdresser I trust again. My last one moved away and I was pretty devastated and I have major hairdresser trust issues, so this is nice.

+1! Everyone should take note of how great it is to get people flowers.

It's really true. My sweetie came home with flowers and a potted succulent for me a couple weeks ago after he went out to do some errands, and it was the nicest! I think that might be the first time someone ever brought me flowers...?

One time I went to go pick up a (male) partner of mine from the train station when he came to visit me in Italy, and I got him some flowers on the way. I was all, "Oh this will be so cute and awesome to get him flowers", then "wait will he feel weird about being brought flowers because nobody brings flowers to dudes?" then I was like "wait when have I ever cared about stuff like that" but still a little nervous but it went over well. Flowers are lovely! (And houseplants.)

There's a hip hop dance class I take every Friday that I LOVE but it usually ends with us doing some choreography with a partner and I often have trouble finding one. And then I get that awkward feeling like I'm 13 again and struggling to not be picked last in gym class. So today, inevitably, there was an odd number of people and I was the only one without a partner.

But THEN the awesome dance teacher brought me to the front and told me to be her partner and I NAILED IT. She told me to stay up front for the rest of the class. Best feeling ever. :)

I left the house today and went to dr (for prescriptions that have to be written), then got eye brow threading and my nails done. I also bought a cute black skirt on sale at Ann Taylor. I swiped the $$ from my summer savings, so when I'm whining about being dead broke all summer, it will be my own fault.

The skirt is a little above the knee and flared a bit. Maybe I'll get some textured black hose? I don't know. I usually go from opaque tights to bare legs. Now I have a new outfit for back to work on Monday, so that's fun. (Although since it's another black skirt and another Ralph Lauren dress shirt (white with thin black stripes and a thinner dark pink stripe, 70% off at Macys!), nobody would ever notice. I'm so boring.)

I also got a raspberry hazelnut soy latte. And I have peanut butter cookies.

Went to a friend's place to make pizza and bake and watch movies with her and a mutual friend. On my way home another friend asked me out to see Bad Words with her. I feel bad that I am only going to see Mr Moon for a little while today but, oh well, he will deal.

I only have a few good things in my life at the moment (alcohol, my niece, Honey the cat, my new crockpot (my slow cooker broke this morning so bought a crock pot), my fantastic colleagues at work) and PPK is one of them. Thank you PPK and everyone here :-)

I think the best thing about my day is that I finished teaching my Yoga Philosophy class. It was only 6 weeks long, but it was a ton of work and I am really pleased with the talks I gave and how I was able to present the material. It's pretty much all I've worked on - besides life's basic necessities - for the last 8 weeks... so it's pretty weird to be finished now! And nice! I'm going to walk the dogs and not feel anxious about preparing next week's talk. :)

On Wednesday we had a smooth trip to London and played a great gig with some wonderful bands (Bottler, Headstone Horrors, Brain's All Gone and Hearts Under Fire.) plus sold some CDs and stuff.
On Thursday my good friend Andreas arrived from Germany.
On Friday we played our album launch show in Nottingham. The other bands supporting us were great (Bad Vibes and Brocker) and it was so awesome to see so many friendly faces turn out to support us.
Yesterday we played another great gig at the punk club in Mansfield, sold a bunch of CDs, saw some great bands (Psycho Sally, Brassick and Wonk Unit) and made some new friends.
Now I have two days of catching up on sleep and eating foods that aren't burger, chips, pizza or beer.

i'm in charge of the bins for the next few weeks. i also conveniently dislocated my wrist again earlier this week. and my town recently replaced the bins with bigger ones and has yet to collect all of the old ones.

when i got home on bin day, i saw that one of the people who had been by to do some work on the house had brought the old bin back in and put it in the gated off bin area. that is seriously so sweet and kind and nice and why on earth should she have known that they were switching over? there were roughly 10 million bins outside, so i really genuinely appreciate that she brought back the one that has been ours forever.

but that inadvertently made more work for me. so when i got home i pulled all the bins into the driveway and left it like that. then when i passed by the next time, i moved them into the yard. i just came home to find that my neighbors took the old bin out, in time for it to be collected and put the current bins away for me. (we share a yard, so that's not as weird as it sounds.)

even better, i just saw one of them outside on his phone and he waved hello and smiled (pretty sure it was him who put them away, since he's usually the one who helps). so if it was him this time, he didn't even do it with resentment.

best neighbors ever.

We went for a walk in the park, planted our seeds in the started kit things, and I just put banana bread chocolate chip muffins in the oven! Best.

I helped plant seed trays, and saw loads of tiny millipedes, which were cute in a weird, scuttly kind of way, plus I ate what we thought were ramsons but then turned out not to be but I'm not poisoned, yay!

my tired brain made me think you planted choc-chip banana bread seeds. which sounds forking amazing.

edit: haaa, fork, I also just realised you didn't plant them in the park on your walk. I'm still not letting go of guerrilla banana bread plantations. you should make it happen. please.

I had an unexpected day off to myself, so I went out for breakfast, submitted a short story to a magazine, found out that the vegan grocery store moved to its new location, close to my house. So I spent way too much on cheese and tartex and am going to make a fancy cheese plate for dinner, but first I have to clean.

Yeeessssssssssssss. That does sound delightful. Maybe that's what Portland has in the food groves in parks (or am I making that up?)

Woke up without a hangover.

Got vegan donuts.

New book arrived in the mail...on a Sunday no less. Thanks Amazon.

Ate donuts and coffee, while reading on the couch.

I'm thinking about ordering Yakisoba to eat for dinner while watching GOT

I kicked Easters asparagus.

I downloaded my garmin data for yesterday's bike ride (my first outdoor ride since October... been riding on the trainer.) My average pace was a full mph faster than my average pace from last year, and the ride felt pretty easy. 1mph doesn't sound like shiitake, but it would shave 29 minutes off my Ironman ride, which sounds pretty huge to me.

Also, surprise margaritas.

A good friend of mine who I've been kind of out of touch with lately (no reason, we've just both been really busy) has been making a point to text me over the past few days and it is just really making me happy to get a chance to talk to her a little.
