I woke up with actual energy and motivation this morning (for the first time in.... a very long time), took a shower, put on clothes that I have definitely never slept in, cleaned the kitchen/dining room, washed a mountain of dishes, washed and folded and put away all of the laundry, tidied the living room and poopieboy's room, cleaned the bathroom, took out the trash, swept and swiffered and mopped all the floors, prepared nutritious foods for the kids at appropriate meal times, and made a meal plan for the week with a shopping list. Then after my cousin picked the baby up, I went out and did all the shopping (including the shopping for Wednesday's baking order). I successfully adulted today! Where's my medal?

Did the suggested revisions and sent in our thesis! Now I only have ten days of clinical training left, and then I'm done! Nurse Amonik, B.A!

that's awesome!! congrats!

My own best thing- I am taking the intern (from now on i'm calling my kid my intern. she is working as my assistant, and it's going swimmingly) out for dinner tonight. There is a meatball sandwich festival in our city this week starting tonight, where all the bars make their own special version of meatball sandwiches, and one bar is making a vegan one. This bar is also based on the film The Triplets of Belleville so it's a fun place to go. I'm psyched.

(and tomorrow I have my first function as an Official Consular Representative and I'm kind of stoked if feeling a bit impostery. now, to figure out what a person my age and rank should wear. ......)

AND a big corporate client that has been supposed to call me and hire me finally called today. good beans.

My best thing is from yesterday, but I still want to share because it was pretty great.

I got a letter from the Eye Bank of Canada, saying my dad's eyes were used in two sight-restoring surgeries. Mr Moon's dad had cornea replacements a few years ago so I'm really happy my dad's helped somebody, and didn't just get donated to education. Not that education isn't important but it's not the same.

He wasn't registered as a donor and I'm not completely sure what he would have thought of it, but I think he would be understanding of the decision I made.

Made stovetop popcorn for the first time. So easy yet so much more satisfying than microwave. And it brought up memories of when my dad used to make it on the stove.

This is yesterday- we had the best dinner. I had three tacos-one with seitan, one with a wild mushroom mix and one with caramelized plantains along with a salsa platter and a black cherry/raspberry margarita. I got to wear my new dress I bought at Zara last weekend with (low) heels. After dinner we took a nice walk around the town the restaurant is in. They have a lot of antique shops and it was fun to window shop. Perfect anniversary!

People egged Nigel Farage when he visited Nottingham and have re-painted one of UKIP's billboards.

It's highly unlikely that the TV crew positioned him there by accident.

That billboard is one of the best subvertising efforts I've seen in years!

I first read this as biscuit farming. I'm a little disappointed now, though biscuit morning sounds great also.

Extremely happy and relieved that my tumour marker tests came back negative.

Delighted that my vegetarian family doctor asked me for vegan cookbook recommendations.... cause she's learned so much from our discussions. Cool !

And thanks to this thread, Saturday morning is going to involved biscuits !

Yay on all counts, Padraigin!

My psychologist is vegetarian and over the years has made great strides towards veganism. I gifted him a copy of my cookzine for christmas, and he tells me that his family is all vegan now except he still has one hold-out - frozen yogurt. Even still, I am pretty pleased to deal with medical professionals who "get it".
