The husband meeting me at the BART station after a terrifying ride home, being suffocated by (no offense) Giants fans. I had to wait for 3 trains and when I managed a spot, it was a crowded, stinky, nightmare full of overtired people. I have never been so happy to see his car, which took me straight to a margarita. I love this man.

Crush emailed me back finally! I was so worried because he's usually so prompt and it was like a full 24 hours this time so I was afraid he didn't want to talk to me... but he answered! Yay!
Also, by the time I go to sleep tonight, this stupid irritating goddamn slow-as-molasses just-really-doesn't-wanna-get-written paper on Discordianism and Marxism will be WRITTEN. It will be DONE. Well, I'll probably do some revisions in the morning before I hand it in, but it will be WRITTEN.
Next time you think to yourself, "Hey, I bet it would be FUN to write a paper on Marxist themes in the Principia Discordia!" just say no. You will regret it.
Also, you will eat all of the cookies. But they WERE delicious, so...

I'm having a really good hair day, and I'm wearing my super sexy vegan corseted coat over a longish velveteen skirt I made myself - and on my way to work a monk turned and checked me out! Ahahaha.

Short day so far but I went to the cafeteria at work hoping for granola or oatmeal and discovered they offer vegan breakfast burritos!

I've had a 100 cupcake commission for a World AIDS Awareness Day event on 1/12/10 at the Nottingham Contemporary art gallery!!!!! :):):) It's my biggest commission yet and is going to provide LOTS of free publicity.

THESE ARE AWESOME DAYS
My day feels more awesome simply because of reading about these great things!
Most importantly, though, MY PAPER IS DONE. It is either really great, or really awful. I'm not sure which. I wish I could watch the professor's face while he reads it.
WHEEE!

Senator Kohl came to my workplace this morning, as a surprise, to announce that the Navy is awarding a 10-ship contract (the next phase of LCS) to our cohorts up at Marinette Marine. What has two thumbs and is a total nerd for the Navy? This pacifist liberal Democrat defense contractor, right here. This was our baby: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Freedom_%28LCS-1%29Totes cried at the commissioning. Ain't she a beauty?

My friend just booked her ticket to come visit me for Thanksgiving! She's studying in Spain for the semester and I study in London so neither of us get time off....but we're skipping class, cooking all day, and going to my American friend's flat for Thanksgiving dinner. Can't wait!

I went for a (very wet) walk around a park with me friend, and it felt like we were in the country, instead of the centre of Manchester AND there were animals! Alpacas, bunnies, gooses, donkeys, pigs - it was amazing. And THEN I tried chocolate beer for the first time. Brilliant afternoon.

I'm hoping to get my BF to take pics of me in my self-made skirt, since I made it from an Ikea cushion cover, and I already mentioned it in the thread about making your own clothes.

This cup of hot cocoa right here. And setting aside a shipment of things to send home. The end is in sight!

Learning that the parcel that I paid $15 to ship to the wrong address actually made it to my sister at the right address- hooray for small town postal workers who recognize names!

I Coined my first(not shirt) Sergeant today. and If I had 2, it would have been my first Captain as well. its an AF thing, getting coined is a big deal sometimes, but it was interesting feeling being on the other side this time.

I was going to put this in the Worst thread; Ended up volunteering a few weeks ago to run for a Pow-MIA memorial for a fallen EoD(Explosive Ordinance Disposal) from our squadron, and the time i was given was 0200-0300 in the morning, and it's freezing here. But I ran it, and met this guy! He was cool to talk to and after all, it didn't turn out to be that cold after running 7 miles. http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/yy119/Wyvernn/MedalsandEoD011Edit.jpgFor some reason, even though I've resized it below 1k pixels (it's at like 500 it says) it's saying I can't [/img] it until its below 1k pixels..

On Sunday my band did a charity gig, the first gig we've done with our new drummer (Our old drummer lacked talent or technique, never practiced, was lazy and had passive aggression to the point of it being a personality disorder) and we were offered another gig off the back of it. The new gig took place last night and the manager of the bar wants us to headline! He said that he can have support bands coming for 2-3 years who never get the chance to headline so it sounds like a really good opportunity. We're also getting a review in a magazine for last night's performance.

I organized the shared folder at work. I know, I know. It sounds lame. But it is SO much easier to use now and I got rid of a ton of old crepe. It makes me feel lighter.
