My boyfriend and I have never celebrated one anniversary (we're just not that good at keeping track/seeing the point), but we decided to go for a splurgy date in mid-November to celebrate our 6.5 years and our engagement. And then this event appeared out of thin air: http://www.pizzeriaprimastrada.com/blog ... ps-bridge/ I'm stoked!

Waking up to soft rain, then clear skies. Off to a bike ride now, then quiet research work. Should be lovely.

Ukulele day! Morning spent in 6 different mini-workshops aka ukulele speed-dating, where I learnt several great techniques. Afternoon wasn't quite as good, although I did make a ukulele out of some wood, margarine tub and fishing line, which was kind of neat.

It was a nice day so my husband and I did something we haven't done in a year. We went into DC and spent the day. We walked tons and had vegan pizza for dinner.

That sounds lovely. DC is at its best in October: nice weather and the ravening hoardes are gone.

Kitty cuddles. (Even though she had me trapped in an awkward position.)

Stew! That's the best thing because it saves me from cooking the rest of the week. Also, got a little more of my essay done, and even managed to incorporate Rasputin. Good day.

After our visit to Farm Sanctuary, my partner has been trying to go vegetarian. It's been two weeks today and he's doing great! This makes me so so so happy and I'm so proud of him!

My boyfriend ordered a bunch of books, and surprised me by ordering Vegan Sandwiches Saves The Day! They arrived today and he let me open them and I was so pleased and surprised. Nice!

stranger came in to the shop today only to tell me I had excellent taste in music and introduce himself.
I've been training for this my whole life.

Awesome! And Drake, that is awesome too! Vet school! Today I have back to back midterms and my best things are: 1. I have actually studied a significant amount for both exams 2. I made myself clean the kitchen last night so I don't have to scramble to do it this morning before the babysitter comes 3. Pumpkin caramel dip mixed into my oatmeal!

Finding out that a co-worker will be giving notice today or tomorrow. She and I have had the same sorts of struggles here and for her to break free is nice.

I made my red obi belt and now my Halloween costume just needs some fake blood on it. I'm very happy about this.
