It was my daughter's first birthday and I was feeling down that we can't have a party for her, bc we have no power after Sandy, and then the amazing JENNA stepped in and is hosting for us. I am moved to tears. So freaking lucky to have wonderful friends.

Yayyy. My BFF came home from work and gave me such a big hug and kiss on the cheek, and was all super happy to see me! I don't know how she knew but that was exactly what I needed.

I was at the record release show for one of my favourite indie artists and the venue was packed (we were all seated, it was held in an old church) and T. and I got shouted out and thanked and told to stand up and we received applause for the album artwork we made. I felt really special.

Found a link for Forks Over Knives that doesn't make my internet connection go all craptacular on itself. Unfortunately now I am watching it but I want to go to bed and it would be my luck to start over tomorrow and have it not work anymore.

I'm about to set off on a journey to see my family, go to the reenactment of a Medici wedding as part of Brighton Early Music Festival, have sushi with the outlaws, go to my brother's birthday meal, meet up with an old school friend, get drunk and frolic about Lewes on Bonfire Night and then come home. Should be a creakin' marvellous long weekend.

I went to a family tea party to celebrate my niece's first birthday. Not only is she the cutest one year old ever, but there was hummus. And chocolate cake.

I finally made myself take down my empty, spare rat cage. This doesn't sound like much but it is a big hulk of a thing and requires tools. One big step to rearranging the rat room/hallway. This isn't so much an awesome thing but I'm happy I've finally done it

WE HAVE INTERNET AT OUR APARTMENT AGAIN.

I received the last two documents I needed from Wilson on Saturday; I emailed a copy of the one that needs translated to the translation service, and they're able to have it done by today! I should be able to mail everything off today!!!

Today is my cat's 4th birthday (that's Merry in the avatar). I plan on picking up a tub of sprouted wheatgrass for her and I will let her steal a chickpea out of the dinner prep bowl. Also pets. Lots and lots of pets and playing.
And also I love that the PPK won't judge me for knowing and celebrating my cat's birthday.

Some friends of mine are road tripping and stopped in Portland overnight so I got to hang out with them from 6 last night to noon today and it was really great. Also had a maple soy latte which was holy fork so good. God I like my friends so much. I do wish everyone I know lived in a one block radius of me though, travel makes it hard to see everyone I like a lot.

I got both my tests from my nutrition class back and they were an A and a B+! And a mini thing: my ears are really and truly healing! Stretching them has been such a poop. I love when things work out.
