I got this notice in the mail from the library saying that I had a way over due book and the cost to replace it would be $33. I was sure I returned it with all the other books I returned, but I looked everywhere over and over again including under the bed and couch and under the car seats searching for it. Then I gave up and went to the library feeling like a terrible, shameful, book losing library patron and ready to hand over $33 to redeem myself. But the librarian said the computer wasn't showing this way overdue book! She said the letter and my return must have crossed paths, which really doesn't make sense, because I know I didn't make a special trip to return just that book, so they should have gotten it when they got all the others. Maybe they misplaced it and then found it. Anyway, I no longer feel like a worthless member of society and I got to keep my $33!
I had a similar experience recently, on a book from my university library that I thought was overdue over Christmas. Really, finding out that you don't have fines on your library card when you thought you did is the best.
The best thing about today for me was that I visited the school I'll be at until June as part of my teacher training, and it was awesome! The whole school is so much more relaxed than the place I was at last year, and there is way less middle management/bureaucracy! It made me pretty happy to walk into the staff room and see two huge display boards filled with teaching union info too (especially since my last school was very anti-union!). I think I may just want to apply for a job at this new school after I qualify...

today my doctor told me i need to stop eating spicy food. (which may or may not be causing an annoying but not serious problem, along with caffeine and alcohol).
this was the funniest thing i heard all day, and i laughed so hard i thought i was going to cry. I composed myself and told Dr Horrified that i'd prefer to just take drugs when necessary for my annoying problem. take away my hot sauce? ah, you've gotta be kidding me.

Ha! Aw, torque. That's funny to me because I've given up on completely cutting chocolate out of my life. Now I risk it and keep medicine on hand should it trigger a migraine. I was just today asking myself--why are you doing this?! But then, brownie.

Yeah, wow! I'm sitting here eating a bowl of AFR Ethiopian millet which I've made about 8 times hotter than the original recipe and then added habañero sauce, and thinking, holy shiitake, if I had to give up spicy food I'm pretty sure that I would lose my will to live.

I played video games today! It was nice to sit up and relax in my room. I have a nice big window where I can see a huge tree and I kept turning my head to look at it. Guess I missed it!

The American one BLOWS. So much so that it should not be allowed to wear the name.

Last day at this boring boring unfufilling job!
My co workers are taking me to Native Foods for lunch (vegan place).
I cleaned out my desk just now. Worked here for 14 months, and here are all the personal items at my desk, how sad is this? Sweater 2 hand lotions, 1 hand sanitizer 1 bottle of tapito 1 bottle of sirracha 1 bag of protien powder Cat hair remover thingy Hot/Cold water bottle thingy Tampons Phone charger
Seems like a lot when I write it out, but it all fit in my small lunch bag. Sad. I am like a ghost, nobody will even remember me when I am gone. That's fine. Bon voyage.

We got all our external doors replaced. I know its a weird thing to be excited about but the installers said 2 of our doors didn't have any insulation in them (highly unusual - possibly a mistake). Those doors were so drafty. Overall, the doors will provide better weatherproofing and they are pretty awesome looking too.

Ha, that is why I specified. I've admittedly only watched the US one for about five minutes, but that was all I needed to know I should never again haha. It just isn't Top Gear without Hamon, Captain Slow and the Orangutan.

Congratulations! My levels were way off this summer and it did a number on my mental and physical health. Hope you're feeling better!
My thing: I got paid today! I've been broke since before Christmas because of the holidays and then rent. A good chunk went to a medical bill and my phone, but they were both late, so it's a relief to have them gone. The rest is going to fun things like food and our we're-not-telling-anyone-where-we're-moving-yet fund.
Also, having a day off with Fred. Such a rarity these days. Love that boy.
Also, also, my finger doesn't really hurt! (tried to lop off the tip while cutting a bagel last night)

Hah, I've been working at my current job for 4 years and I barely have anything there either! Cat hair remover and vitamins are probably the main things.

Enjoying a few hours of much less pain than normal! Really hoping this is a sign of healing and not just advil being more useful now than it normally is for whatever reason. Actually it's kind of weird, it's really much less pain than normal, but there's like this deep itching going on that's new. (The injury is lower back/tailbone, fell hard on it last Sunday night, I'm too poor to see a doctor really but the injury felt pretty self explanatory and like there really wouldn't be much they could do for me, the options for what could have happened seem like either bruised tailbone, or if I was really unlucky, chipped) So I feel like itching could make sense if it was a deep bruise (there's not been anything visible) and it was healing? That's what I'm going to tell myself anyhow. (If it gets worse I'll figure it out and see a doctor).
