OMG IT'S OVER!!!!!!!

Thanks, everyone! I passed with distinction! I have 1 month of class left for a 2 unit class and then I am officially done!

I'm a little in shock, still waiting for the relief to sink in. :)

School has weakened my immune system beyond belief and I'm feeling the effects. I'm currently in my 3rd semester of my DVM program and happy that I don't have finals for almost 3 weeks with Thanksgiving break beginning next Friday. However, I'm also getting worried about job prospects as a lot of schools are managing budget shortfalls by adding out-of-state seats (my school is adding 40 of them), meaning that the job market will be flooded with tons of new veterinarians in 5 years and that will further depress starting salaries. Yikes!

I'm in the process of applying for MFA programs. I'm so nervous I'm going to be rejected by all of them!

Today's project is finishing the rough/adaptable draft of my one-page personal statement. :/

I'm waiting to defend. I'm not actually afraid of it, but it will require reading things I forgot about three years ago.

My thesis advisor thinks public humiliation and threats are good motivators. Awesome.

In other words, I hate grad school!!!!

That sounds terrible! Talk to the advisor (or some one else) about using other motivating techniques! Seriously.

Yeah...he's 70 and is known for being unpleasant. I think it's something I just have to deal with, but it won't stop me from complaining! :(

Applying to a BSN/MSN program! Due to me being picky and not having grades for 2 out of 4 classes that are deemed critical to another programs application process, I'm only applying to one school. If I don't get in, I'll apply again and also to a couple other schools.

I'm secretly jealous of people who are still applying to programs. That may have been the most exciting part! Once you get in it's all work and the hard realization that grad school isn't as romantic as you (uhum, I at least) thought it was.

dudes, i hell of just finished entering 3700 data points into my giant data table of doom. i think i have to enter two more columns of data, and then re-check two columns (for a relationship i'm not 100% sure about) and then .... i might be done? and can just analyze the shiitake out of it? that'd be ok.

It's nerve-wracking! I've been over the finances 3 times this week. I've calculated out gas and car maintenance costs. I've also figured out what time I'd have to wake up to get to school on time and its not pretty. Then I have had to ask for references and kind of dread asking for my last reference.

And I'm hoping the school doesn't raise their tuition cost. And I don't know how much parking costs yet and I haven't even visited the school yet. And I'm going to have to fill out a FAFSA for the first time in ages although it won't buy me anything.

This is awesome! And now we really can celebrate because my husband had his masters in music performance graduate recital last night and it went really well!

So, um, exams are no fun. I'm going to spend all weekend hunched over a computer becoming best friends with arcgis.

I am going to spend the next three weeks writing three 20+ pp. seminar papers and/or deciding between seppuku and a nice, quick bullet to the head.
