This, but the jobs available that I'm qualified for are what I did before entering grad school.

On a higher note, just a couple more months, the bar exam, then I get to be a real person again! A potentially unemployed and indebted real person, but I'll actually be able to garden this year! And see friends! That I'm sure I have somewhere!

Yeah. Some of that too. Waaah waaah. It's like the world is laughing at our poor, poor choices.

But that's awesome that you're almost done! You can always make new friends with other unemployed gardening lawyers!

congrats on the perfect score, autumn.

I'm working on a masters in math. non-thesis. I'm taking two classes this semester in preparation for my comps at the end of the semester. usually I do this one class at a time, so I'll be halfway done in May with 2.5 years to go. I look forward to going back to one class - two on top of a full time job is just too much.

I got a not brilliant, not horrific result for my last essay! It was a pile of shiitake, so that's really saying something.

I'm having to stop and get out my notebook even on my way home from work. My brain won't stop brainstorming! It's constantly coming up with new titles and cross-references and ideas and stuff. I really hope it will shut down and let me sleep. Soon.

I just started my final class for my masters. 8 weeks culminating in a comprehensive exam. Barf.

I earned an MA in English 2 years ago. I loved my grad school experience, because all I did was read great books! It's nice to be out and to no longer have research and conference papers hanging over my head, but I enjoyed school. I wish I'd been that on top of things when I was an undergrad, but you live and learn. Good luck to all the current students here!

This grad school stuff is killing me. I'm a fifth-year, everyone in my lab who is also a fifth-year has a job/post-doc lined up and is ready to graduate in the fall. I have no idea when I'm going to finish or what I'm going to do after graduation (I want to switch fields). And to top it off, I have a research progress presentation on Thursday but I have no good results to show. I'm so stressed out all the time that I have a constant upset stomach, panic attacks, and insomnia. UGH, grad school is the worst!!! I wish I could go back in time to tell pre-grad school me to choose another path of study.

/rant. That felt good. Thanks for reading!

I am, because I'm teaching afterwards (we're on quarters so our Spring term starts after break) so I will need to re-energize. You?

I'm taking a break! I obsessively did work last Friday, then took the bus up to NYC and brought no homework whatsoever.

Leaving either tonight or tomorrow, though, and then it's nose to the grindstone.

I don't think I can afford to at this point, which is kind of disappointing. I might try to take a full day off though, so maybe that will work out!

Squee indeed! That's fantastic lutin, congrats. This would be my dream.

I think i keep screwing everything up. Also, I went to sleep at 10 and woke up at 12:30. What a good night's sleep. At least I'll be home by...6 pm or so tomorrow. Or is it today?

I can't focus . . . it's too beautiful outside. I don't want to write two papers!

Any grad students here that are nonscience and fully funded? I am deciding between MSW or MPH or PsyD and it seems to be a whole different world than my boyfriend who will be going to grad school for physics next year

My friend is fully-funded in an english PhD program, but pretty sure that's the exception rather than the rule. Everyone I know in an MSW or MPH program is relying on loans.

I am also fully funded in my PhD program, along with a stipend. I also turned in my final paper of the spring semester which means that I have Officially Survived my first year!!! (Of course, I've got a two-day teaching workshop next week, and will be studying French over the summer, but still: I'm feeling pretty chuffed. And ready for a guilt-free nap!)
