Beautifully made and eloquently written.
However, he does seem to make the assumption that being religious equals rejecting the precise harmony and beauty of astrophysics (and science in general for that matter). Perhaps that is true for some people, but not everyone.

I love it. Every time I've had a moment of clarity that I call a religious experience it really was brought on by my awe at science.

Religon as an institution, and specifically he does seem to be focusing on judeo-christian religions (Not that Eastern Religions do not have their faults, I'll admit, but often for different reasons) has historically and still to this day represses scientific advancement, whether it was Galileo being prosecuted for suggesting the earth was not the center of the universe, or today with evolution being banned from schools. Even suggesting to its followers not to believe evolution, to only believe Religion's way of things rejects the true spirit of science. Individuals can certainly have their own faiths and even some denominations may be completely fine and peachy with everything science has to say (Universal Unitarian is the only one to come to mind but I digress) and that's what he says, that an religious individual must accept science if they want to find God.
