This morning my partner is going to watch football with friends without me. So excited. I was invited and I love him, but I have not had our apartment to myself for several consecutive hours in ...months. If ever? I can't remember the last time. Yeesssss. No pants, face mask, cleaning the kitchen...woo! I could do that with him here, but something about alone time is refreshing.

Yeah, I transcribe for a hospital and know from that that iron pills and supplements are notorious for causing side effects, especially stomach type upsets for some folks. <3

FFS! I saw a vegan recipe for rolos and now I have a major craving. Health food store is closed in 11 mins and won't be open again until Monday and I'm a 30min drive away. This is going to be one long weekend.

I had THE LONGEST day yesterday. I worked from 8:30 until 4:00, then went straight to an event and was the volunteer photog until 12:00. I am still so tired.

Whee survived the talk!

Went with blue shirt and purple striped tie (I think this is the burgundy stripe people are referring to? It's really more of a plum colour) because they had the most overlap in votes (including real life people).

It's over it's over it's over. It went terribly, but it's over.

Normally I go to the pub on a Saturday night with my flatmate, but he has a gig tonight. So I am on the sofa in my pyjamas with a bottle of wine watching X Factor. And feeling slightly guilty that I am enjoying it so much.

Sod it! X Factor is great! I'm on the tea rather than the wine. Tea and Jammy Rings. And maybe some toast and chocolate orange spread in a bit.

I've sewn two skirts this week and loved making them. Now I want to sew all the things. I have curtains that need taking up but I really want to make dresses out of some lovely patterns and gorgeous fabrics I've earmarked. Never had sewing lust before.

Fizzgig, I always make myself walk away from that situation! Talking to cranky people makes me way cranky; being cranky and doing so makes me all grumpy.

Yeah, Best Astronomy Professor said I sounded very obviously nervous, but that the content carried the talk. At least the slides were really pretty? Best way to avoid practicing public speaking: spend weeks making the most beautiful accompanying slides possible.

The entire purpose of this exercise is to give us experience in a safe forgiving environment. Nobody's going to judge us on talks we gave about our summer research as undergrads. Easier to learn now than in grad school when it matters.
