They sent it to me via a friend so I didn't have the chance to turn it down. They also sent me a slushy letter begging me to come home because they loved me. In the mean time they were constantly calling my phone screaming abuse at me. I ended up having to change my number and couldn't tell anyone where I lived. Because I didn't own the house I was staying in I couldn't get a restraining order. Because I didn't have thousands to spare I couldn't get a court order. This country sucks for abuse victims.

Went to sleep congested from a cat and now I feel all weird and sleepy and disoriented this morning still.

Baked 6 out of 7 of the cookie/bar batches that I planned to give away for Christmas. A little disappointed that I didn't have time for all of them, but should be sufficient. I kind of just want to keep them all for myself though. They won't love you like I love you, rosemary chocolate chip cookies.

The family tradition is bacon and pancakes christmas morning. The years since going vegan I just made vegan pancakes. I thought it might be a good idea to try making some tempeh bacon (I really liked the results the last time I tried making it) but after checking almost every single grocery store in the area, it seems that tempeh simply doesn't exist in my parents' hometown... Blech.

Our neighbours sent us this big beautiful christmas flower arrangement (I just looked it up on the flower shop website, and it sells for 80 bucks!), but it is exacerbating my allergies so much that I don't know if I can stand to keep it in the house.

Could it possibly be that they don't open them until Christmas? I never open presents until the day, so if it was me I'd have just shoved them under the tree, and would open and then phone thanks on the day itself.

This is what we are hoping, but, knowing them its not too likely.

My mom and I were discussing how we hate that we have to get my horrible bratty cousin a gift. So we decided we are going to try to play a joke on her by printing up a fake gift certificate for "The Learning Can be Fun Store", just to see the look on her face when she opens it. (We will give her a real gift afterward. Probably.)

i just had this gigantic collard green stalk, which had apparently rotted from the inside and was full of nasty rotten-cabbage stinky slimey spooge, explode all over me and every piece of clothing i'm wearing. i smell like i just fell off a garbage truck.
on the other hand, i'm filthy and covered in dirt and spent my day in the garden. Unlike SOMEONE, i did not take a giant dump on the garden path..... a certain Someone must shiitake on teh path in the same place Every Bloody Time. Aside from the shiitake in the garden, i feel great.

Tea, there are also recipes out there for coconut bacon, shitake (the mushroom, not the filter of course) bacon, and eggplant bacon. I have never made any of them, but I've heard people rave about them here. I'm sure you can google the recipes or search here for links to blog posts with recipes or send someone a desperate pm asking for their recipe!

I'm having this debate with myself right now. If I don't go today I'm going to pretty much have to go tomorrow...so, which seems like a better idea? Hmmmm.

Well, that isn't happening, but I'm still meeting his entire extended family Christmas Day.

I'm getting seriously pissed at this cat that has taken to hanging outside my house and constantly bawling. It has drove my dog insane all day. I was taking some rubbish out to the bin and the dog bulldozed her way out the door. She went wild running up and down the street and green for 20mins trying to catch the cat to play with it. At one stage the cat hid under a car and Lexi tried to go under after it but it must have made a swipe at Lexi because she came running back to me whimpering like a big chicken.

For this entire ordeal I was in a pjs that had cute cow faces all over it.
