Ha. Mine is similar.

I've been wondering what it's all about that I refer to/call mine always by his first and last name at once.

I call my boss (and somewhat friend) by his first and last name, always. And I have another friend (female this time) that I do that to. Some people just have such great names that you have to say the whole thing, I think.

I am currently making pizza in my slow cooker. It's kind of awesome because it gives me plenty of time to drink a few beers before it's ready. Jerkface McSoccer Crush was maybe supposed to hang out again this evening, but again is failing to commit to plans. I'm really learning lessons in disappointment from this guy. I wish he was less handsome and smart and clever and fun so that I could not give a shiitake when he doesn't get ahold of me for hangouts.

Still though, I have had a productive day. I did laundry and called my parents and went to a meeting and had brunch and went grocery shopping and worked out and am making pizza, so I guess I've had worse Sundays.

The upside to heartbreak is having no appetite. I might achieve my weight loss goals a lot sooner than I think!

Good work! I hate filling in job apps, I procrastinate so much I end up writing them at 4am the day they're due. I hope you get an interview at the very very least!

I am enjoying zwingtip's new avatar, didn't someone have it before? Was it you, z? Was it me? I feel like I maybe used it somewhere once sometime. OMG CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO THE SUEDE SINGLE. Venger is so sick of me dancing him round the room singing it, I am sure.

Oh god. The vacuum also stresses me out. If I could pin my ears down, drop to my belly and put my tail between my legs I would. Fortunately, our house is almost all hardwood floors. Thank god.

I do this. I refer to a good number of my professors by first and last name (it just sounds WRONG otherwise!)

I appear to have answered my own question. Calling him 'Thomas of Britain' says about the same thing having spent the last hour trying to source a Cotton Titus c.xvi transcription.

That's cute! Our springer spaniel and parakeet loved each other, though I think the spaniel was more tolerant than anything. The parakeet used to go pick at the hair between his toes and he would let her do it.

Why is ordering online internationally so forking hard? I wanted to send my aunt some middle eastern spice blends to go with a cookbook I got her for her birthday. Book was from amazon.co.uk--easy. The spices on amazon wouldn't ship to Ireland. The two sites I found, UK based, wouldn't ship to Ireland, then one would but wouldn't allow an American to pay unless shipping to the US. Finally, after an hour, I found someone who would both take my American money and ship to Ireland from the UK. But then they want a post code and she doesn't have one, so I just put in Mayo twice and am crossing my fingers.

Staying up all night to watch the 49ers play this badly sucks. I'm almost tempted to go to bed.

Ah, what the fizzle. My aunt was just asking me about Veganomicon and I told her about AFR. So, she is browsing on Amazon and asks if I've heard of <book I just bought her> because it looks nice.

Me: you don't want that book. I've heard it's awful.
Aunt: it has over 300 rave reviews on Amazon.
Me: oh, we'll you know how those reviews are.
Aunt: not really.
Me: desperately distracting her with other books

Gah. Do I tell her and spoil the surprise? She probably bought it on a whim. She buys pretty much anything she wants. I guess this means I chose well, but really, what are the chances. This is my fault for saying I'm making preserved lemons.

"please don't buy it! i'm begging you! it's a matter of life and death!"

[the return policy is pretty lax, right?]

I'm with ijdi! And though the return policy is lax it still can be a PITA to pack it up, fill out the slip online, print it out and take it to a Fedex location (or which ever carrier Amazon uses internationally)

I know. Usually I would, but I agonized over this.

And, now my mom says she is thinking of going vegetarian. (how did I not know this? I'd have sent vegan cookbooks).

I call some people by first and last as well. My friend's daughter calls me by my first and last always.

I'm obsessed with Shameless. So. Good.

People whose first language is English, please explain to me exactly why German is considered funny (and not just by Tina Fey)? Is it the accent? The long compound words? Something associated with Germans? (I'm Austrian and as a rule we don't think Germans are funny. Not at all.) Really, I need to know.

I think it's the long compound words and all the consonant sounds and stuff. It sounds very emphatic and cacophonous, I think, especially to people who don't speak it.

See? I wouldn't get the "cacophonous" part, not from the inside, as it were. Thanks.

I don't think I know anyone who thinks German sounds funny (at least not in a ha-ha way). What I do hear people say is that it sounds aggressive and angry.
