I am up waaaayyyyyy too late to be getting up for work tomorrow. Working 9:30am til midnightish (again) tomorrow, too. I always do this to myself.

I got no blizzard but I got wind, so much wind.

Zebby came into our bedroom three times this morning. I fed him when he woke me up the first time, and then I gave him some attention the other 2 times. When I was petting him the third time, he clawed the shiitake out of my arm - drew blood and everything. And he's been more than usually aggressive towards Mike this morning (even before Mike annoyed him by picking him up). And now he's just sitting on my footstool like nothing. Wee jerk.

Also, snow has been predicted for next week. Boo-urns.

I saw your pics on FB. My husband gets scratches often, which is why I try to keep the cats nails trimmed.

Off to meet the Mr's parents and eldest son today. Met his two wee ones (10) last month, apparently his lil son told his (maternal) granny that I was really nice and fun and the two of them were asking at the weekend when they'll be seeing me again. Wish me luck!

(his mum is veggie, we're off to a good start at least!).

Quite possible. Although my brain did start acting a bit weird like it was asleep and my body was awake so I just turned off everything and lay down. I suspect I was asleep in 0.002 seconds.



Thanks. I was still in pain this morning so took more painkillers and went back to bed for a few hours because when I lie in the foetal position I have no pain. Then went for a walk with the neighbour and I feel a lot better now. It relaxed the muscle a good bit. Still fairly sore but I managed to wash the dishes and the hall flour when I got home.

So glad you're feeling better! Being in pain with an over-eager doggy who needs a walk is just no fun at all.

I do think that back-pain is something that most people don't "get". Its hard to understand that normal backpain is as far from serious back pain as period cramps are from labor.

Exactly. When I describe what muscle spasm in the back is like (which I imagine is on par with childbirth) people don't really believe me. Like being in so much pain that even just moving your leg in bed makes you shout out in pain and you have to crawl to the bathroom. Yesterday, there were times were I was actually going to pass out from the pain but this pain isn't anywhere near muscle spasm pain. As bad as the pain is at the moment it is is nowhere near as bad as it could be since I considered it an achievement to be able to wash the dishes and the hall floor today.

Sorry about the weird post, painkillers and pain make my brain kind of weird. I can't even focus on the tv.

Made a batch of cookies last night and decided to take about half of them into work at the museum. This was the right decision, as I ate about 5 when I came home for lunch and the rest when I came home just now. Amazing how tiring being on your feet for most of the time in a room with no natural light and a lot of screaming children can be, even just for a few hours!

Thank you for this! I would up making just biscuits and gravy and they don't really need anything else on the plate after all I've decided. I'm just having a piece of fruit for dessert since it's my breakfast and I like to have some fruit. Yum.

It peas me off beyond belief when people are like "I get back pain too, I know what you mean." or they talk about how they "suck it up." Sorry crasshole, if you are able to "suck it up" and run forking half marathons monthly, it isn't debilitating and you have no forking clue, which is probably why you are a jerk and give me parking permits in Siberia and act like I'm a whiner who wants special treatment when I politely object, citing my disability permit.

Now I know lots of active people also have back pain and can certainly be temporarily incapacitated, and I fully sympathize and empathize, but it's still not the same damn thing because they will be able to walk normally again in a few days or a week and go on with their lives.

(I don't talk about this stuff at work, but I know a lot of people think I'm gaming the system with my DMV permit because I seem ok, a d they resent that they have to park in Siberia. They don't know that I usually have to crawl into bed with painkillers when I get home, and that even when I seem ok, I am actually sucking up a lot and almost everything I do is a weighted decision based on how much I can handle to average my walking and standing out throughout the day.)

Thanks Lavawitch. I'm really sorry you live with such bad pain the whole time. I have pain most of the time but it is bearable. I'm lucky that walking seems to be the one thing that really helps with my pain. Standing still really hurts though or even just every day walking like around the house or work hurts too. I couldn't imagine having that level of pain the whole time. Massive hugs and kisses xxxxx

I'm sorry you guys have to put up with that. I have family with fairly severe back problems and I hate that when a disability isn't clearly visible, people make snide little judgements.

I'm going to a party tonight. I don't know what to wear! I have like...no clothing. I need to go clothes shopping, but I haven't yet gone. (I hate clothes shopping more than I hate just about any other activity you could think of.)

You and I are having the same problems. I'm supposed to go out tonight and all I really own is work clothing. I need clothing so badly but despise clothe shopping.

I also hate shopping. What I do is have a couple places that are guaranteed to fit without trying crepe on and likely to have things I like.

This is probably veering into a tough time to shop though--sales are dwindling and all the new spring stuff is out.

Quoted for empathy. I have work clothes, super casual clothes, and super fancy clothes, but nothing to wear to a party tonight. And I hate going to parties anyway, so this is just making it worse!

What kind of party? Maybe a super fancy top with jeans?
