Oh and you guys, this is my 1000th post. :)

We were out yesterday and I noticed the flowers starting to bloom, so I was like, yay, spring soon! And my bff's husband said it would probably snow at the weekend. So we all laughed because that's silly! And then I got up this morning to feed the cat and it was snowing. Also, it started hailing on me when I was walking home from the shops while it was still sunny! Oh, Edinburgh.

But I have a Skype date with my sister and the wee man in less than an hour, so overall it'll be a good day.

Don't get me started about the weather. My laundry outside got snowed over.

We had the opposite: big ol' snowstorm on Friday, went for a run on Saturday in capris without a jacket.

Took round 2 of my malaria prophylaxis today. I'm heading to the Dominican Republic on Friday for a 10-day service learning trip with my university. I'm very excited about the experience, just trying not to make myself paranoid about all of the diseases I could contract...

I have "kale!" stamped repeatedly on my hands and arms!

I made a vegg tofu scramble this morning (my first use of vegg) and was pretty disappointed. It smelled like egg, but the taste was non-impressive. My omni friend went crazy for them though and claimed he could feed it to other omnis and they would have no idea it wasn't eggs.

I've been to 2 malaria zones, I wouldn't stress too much. Just make sure to drink clean water.

I'm more concerned about dengue fever at this point.

I'm like that with soya milks that are trying to imitate the mouthfeel and flavour of cows' milk. Some people love it, I think it's gacky.

Oh man, my vegg has been sitting in my pantry for months. I need to use it. Maybe french toast?

Instead of taking a nap I headed to my bedroom with the hoover and cleaned up a bit. I knocked over the dehumidifier on top of my head. It hurt. I really should have taken a nap not clean.

We got the keys to our new house today, so I've been packing for the last six hours. Now I'm out of scotch tape and energy.

So, has anyone else been screwed by Yahoo? It was hacked sometime last week and now I can't log into my emails. It's been four days. It wouldn't be too much of a problem except I don't know the emails of most of the people I talk to and most of them I don't know their phone numbers or any way to get in contact with them except through email. It makes me sad too to think I may lose some friends because I can't find them. :(

Hey Peri, that did happen to me as well. Call the Yahoo customer service. It's a big project, and it takes a ton of patience, but you and eventually get them to reopen your account. Good luck. And then, mega change your password.

Ahh yes, but I think most of the issues with going to many countries is getting sick from the water including dysentery in certain countries. Good luck though and have fun.

I've feeling pretty wonky today.

Yesterday was an achievement-full day!
We had awesome sexytime in the morning, which is always a good way to start, and then I kneaded the bread, we drove to my bf's place, had lunch, went to the supermarket, and he had to work for a few hours, so I baked the bread, sewed new curtains for both the bedroom and the living room, cooked dinner, and the thing I am most proud of: sorted his spices cabinet into a usable order! He had 5 open canisters of rosemary, 3 open thyme ones, two cinnamon canisters plus a huge bag we opened once we couldn't find the open canisters, and so on and so forth. Now there is one canister of each herb/spice, there is a list of what he has ( which is a huge lot of different things), and I threw out as many plastic bags as possible and replaced them with little jars we had hanging around. It looks so neat, and now we won't waste so much time every time we are cooking and need some sort of spice, which was always hiding under the rest. My inner-orderly self is pleased.

Today, we fixed his VW bus, and went bouldering. Nice!

I juts went food shopping and I bought so much food. Thanks, state tax refund!

I had THE best weekend! My husband & I had the whole weekend off together & we had no real plans with other people for once so we got to spend the whole weekend together. We went to see my favourite band TWICE, went to the movies, bumped into a close friend & went for late night drinks at our favourite pub, ate loads of delicious food (I can eat again, rejoice!) AND he helped me make some signs & stuff for my first ever Operation Icing stall at Veg Fest next weekend. It's been so fun! Next Sunday we go away to Ireland for a week so we get to spend even more time together, yay!

In my experience, dengue is the one to be more worried about, but there's not a lot you can do other than dousing yourself in mosquito repellent. I had to take doxycycline for malaria prevention when I lived in the Philippines but the side effects were super annoying so I (and everyone else I knew there) gave it up after a few weeks. I never got sick and never regretted stopping the pills! It's obviously a personal decision, but I wouldn't stress too much about a ten day trip if you just try to keep the mozzies away.

I'm so frustrated right now. I'm trying to download a couple apps from Google Play and I've never had a problem until now. I keep getting "Unfortunately, Google Play has stopped working" and I've searched the internet for answers, have followed everything that has worked for other people and still nothing.

BINGO. bring your bug stuff and don't think about it too much. even a mosquito net doesn't help too much as the dengue mosquitoes are most active at dusk and dawn, not at night. my state is considered to be an "epidemic state" right now for dengue. we screened all our windows (unusual for brazil) and try not to worry too much.
