I just know it's going to start some sort of shame spiral, all because I can't afford to have a forking printer at home.

Why should you have to pay to print the stuff out of your own pocket? There's no shame in saying you're not prepared to do that! You don't even have to say you don't have a printer.

Yeah I don't own a printer either! It's not a thing to be ashamed of, people shouldn't assume you have a personal printer ready for their needs.

I don't think personal printers are really a status symbol? I don't have one, I don't even have a computer. I mean if you're being asked to print something doesn't that mean the person asking doesn't have one either?

Also I think I have spent too much time on the ppk, because I no longer have any concept of TMI.

I am disgustingly enthralled by ear stuff. I clean my ears daily (I know, I know, you're not supposed to!) but I secretly wish I had buildup because that would be so satisfying to pull out. I get nothing, though. Bupkis.

I clearly have no concept of TMI anymore either.

I clean my ears daily and was actually told to do so by my doctor. I have had to get my ears flushed out like three times because of excess buildup that made me temporarily deaf, apparently I have the "wet" type of earwax, that doesn't just make its way out on its own. I do have to say the stuff that came out of my ears then was utterly fascinating. Ears apparently have lots and lots of room in them.

I love cleaning my ears. The best was when someone on the ppk posted that earwax fluoresced under black light, so I tried it out at work. It worked! I've never seen anything like today though. I was this close to sending a picture to my friends, but then I decided that if I wanted to keep them as friends, I probably should not send them random pics of my ear debris.

If they don't want to see your ear gunk, were they really friends to begin with?

Did you take a picture? If not, why not? If so, why haven't you posted it yet?

I did take pics before I decided that my friends probably would not want to see them. Here they are, for all my fellow gross people (but under a cut to spare the normal peeps):

Right? What the fork is that? I clean my ears out every day, so it's not like I have super dirty ears or anything.

Funny because I saw your first reply and I said (our loud, to no one) "NO, It's NOT THE SAME".

Damn it. I have been using biker boy's match.com name as a password for a bunch of stuff because it was handy and unrelated to me in any way. He was using my laptop and accidentally saw my gmail inbox which revealed this fact to him if he was paying attention. There is zero reason why I should be embarrassed by this but I weirdly am.

I get such a weird high when I get an awesome chunk of ear gold, and I am super jealous right now.

This conversation is reminding me of this thread and now I'm wishing my ears were clogged enough right now to go get them irrigated.

He was staying at a hotel. Anyway, he managed to get it printed himself, and no shaming ensued.

On a totally unrelated (to the workshop) note, I am feeling like I can do nothing right and I want to cry.

I'm jealous because even my doctor has never gotten anything good out of my ears.

Allularpunk, I'm sorry you're feeling like that.

once my doctor got such a huge hunk of wax out of my ear with the wire loop thing that she was genuinely shocked that I hadn't been having any hearing problems. It was kind of awesome. i didnt even notice a difference afterwards, but wow was it a big ball!

Hehe, me too on all counts!
My kids had AMAZING amounts of earwax and the pedi commented on it, saying something like Asian people ears tend to produce more earwax and I was almost ready to blame it on Mr T but then had to fess up that between his ethnic tendencies and my overproduction we were breeding veritable earwax champions.

And, to add to the amazing nugget of whatever, I found a long-lost college friend of mine by googling his name and instead of finding that he is an amazing biochemical engineer doing groundbreaking research, etc etc, he is forever memorialized in a blog chronicling the gigantic turds of wax he has pulled out of his ears over the years.
