Not a "pro" but these are a few things I have thrown together and LOVED.

1. Macaroni, vegannaise, celery salt, and olives. Best mac salad on earth!

2. TVP reconstituted w/ veggie broth & taco spice and beans on a tortilla. Better than any Taco Bell burrito anyday!

3. Loving Hut's BBQ soy protein (you can buy a bag of it, you just have to ask the cashier and they'll bag some up for you). Seriously, if we ever move back to Texas I will be finding one of you guys to buy this for me and mail it to me! BEST sandwich "meat" ever! I reconstitute it in a little saucepan w/ boiling water and vegan Worcestershire sauce. Nom!!!

One of those plastic cigarette case things makes a great travel container that fits peanut butter packets, crackers in a zip lock and hemp hearts/protein powder for those emergency times...

My tips:
(1) Hummus and tomato sandwich. It will change your life.
(2) Hummus+balsamic vinegar = quick creamy salad dressing
(3) Swedish fish, Nutter Butters, Twizzlers, Skittles, Oreos, Peanut Chews, Sour Patch Kids. The answer to long car drives, movie theaters, airports, etc.
(4) Always carry a Luna Bar.
(5) Tofutti Sour Cream + Lipton Onion Soup Mix = instant vegan veggie/chip dip

Whole wheat pita
Garlic hummus
Fresh basil
Tomato
Cucumber
Shredded carrots
Red onion

Best damn sandwich ever!

And peanut butter on rice cakes or anything. Tempeh clubs! These are my new best friend.

Melt a handful of chocolate chips. stir in some peanut butter and broken pretzel bits. Drop spoonfuls onto waxed paper and toss in the freezer until hardened. Eat. Orgasm. Repeat.

Same thing works if you replace the peanutbutter and pretzel bits with pecans and walnuts or almonds.

When reconstituting TVP chunks to add to spaghetti, put some red wine in with the water. This is also a great way to use up red wine that's been open a bit too long.

Open up an Oreo. Place as manny blueberries as you can on one side, put the other side back on top. Can also be done with raspberries, or strawberry or banana slices.

I never reconstitute tvp with water. I always use vegetable broth, often mixed with wine or tomato juice.

I honestly did not know of these Peanut Chews until I went trick-or-treating this year (for the first time in about a decade; yeah, I'm too old). Anyway, this little old lady gave us a couple and for the heck of it, despite there being chocolate, I did my vegan thang and skimmed the ingredients. Mind = blown. I'm buying bags of these from now on.

Here's an easy thing for college students to make in a dorm room: throw some PB & strawberry jam on pita bread and pop in the toaster oven. S'not bad, not bad.

Mashed avocado on toast, with salt. Best snack ever.

Also, man, discovering the greatness that is blending cashews was a revelation. Blending cashews (preferably soaked) with water. If you add sweetener and vanilla, it's like whipped cream. If you add some vinegar and maybe some oil, it's like sour cream. If you add tofu, herbs and garlic, it's ricotta.

Great idea! But, when does "red wine that's been open a bit too long" ever happen?!

My tip: kale pretty much goes with everything. throw it in a salad, on pasta, on pizza, in sammiches, etc....

I've discovered that if I make some quinoa or couscous with too much liquid, a little nooch will take away the sogginess and add tastiness. Hooray!
