Hi, everyone! I've recently signed up for my first ever marathon (eek!), and I've decided to dedicate the run to fundraising for Peaceful Prairie, a Colorado animal sanctuary that provides lifelong care to rescued farm animals, as well as participating in humane education outreach! I've been vegan for five years and have never actively participated in an animal rights fundraiser, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to do so, as well as to force myself to cross the finish line! I'm hoping to raise a minimum of $1,000 for Peaceful Prairie, and if this goes well I plan to do something similar for each of my future races, choosing a different animal-related non-profit each time. I'm bumping this because my race is a little over two weeks away, and I'm still really far away from my (perhaps overly ambitious) fundraising goal! Also, full disclosure: my training was sidelined due to injury, so I switched over to the half marathon race. But I plan to run the hell out of it! For the animals!!
