It depends on what I'm washing! I can't get that deep butt clean from the front, right? Mostly I think I face to the side and look at our world map shower curtain, except when washing the other side or sticking my head in the water. Washing hair, I face away from the nozzle so I can rinse it down my back. Washing my face, I get right up in there. Washing my pits, turn sideways, get water up in there. So, y'know, all over the place.

Mostly back, but I do some front, and I do the sides as well with some neck stretching to help with my tension headaches. I picked back and dreidel.

I face the water for all washing that can feasibly be done facing the water! It has only just come to my attention that anybody showers facing away from the water. I just turn around to get my back, or when I'm done with the washing part I might turn around just to hang out in the shower for a while with the water hitting my shoulders.

i move around a lot because i want the part of me that i'm rinsing to be as close to the shower head as possible, but while i'm soaping up i huddle against the far wall because i like to rinse all the soap off at once, so i guess i spend more time facing away from the stream.

All of this, pretty much exactly.

I spin! Whatever I'm washing gets turned away from the water until I rinse that bit. I feel like if I just stood under the water the whole time, I'd need to use more soap.

I wonder if there's an orientational preference difference between people who typically shower in a shower-bath and people who typically shower in a just-a-shower.

Depends of what I'm washing. I wet my hair, rinse out shampoo and conditioner and shave my legs with the water at my back. Face washing and rinsing soap off of front areas I'm facing the water. Sometimes after working out I face away to let the hot water hit my shoulders for awhile and then bend forward so it can hit my lower back 'cause it's soothing.

Move around to wash stuff, but mostly back facing the water. Or as directly under that shiitake as possible.

if you could just set this to music and send me a tape so i could get to some shower shimmying, that'd be great. i'm pretty sure it's super safe to do a hokey-pokeyesque heid-the-baw dance in a wet tub. pretty sure.

I prefer to face away from the water because I love hot water on the base of my neck, but really I'm a bit of a dreidel.

My back is to the water unless I'm rinsing soap off my front or something. I remember being baffled as a kid the first time I ever saw a movie where a character was facing the water while showering, haha. It's backwards!!

As long as the water is as close to boiling as possible, I'm not picky.

I picked front and dreidel because I think I spend a little more time facing the water, but mostly I move around a lot.

Yes super hot showers are the best. I like it when my skin is all red when I get out.

I face wherever the door to the bathroom is. If a serial killer sneaks in I wanna be stabbed in the boobs cause they're big and might cushion the blow.

I'd say my default position is with my back facing the water, but I definitely move around to rinse stuff. Also, I move away from the shower head for the sudsing portion of my shower so that I don't feel like I'm wasting a bunch of soap.

Haha, me too.

I mostly have my back to the spray and spin like a driedel as the shower progresses from body part to body part.

if i have the luxury of wasting water, i LOVE to stand for a while with my back to the nozzle and my hands placed one over the other behind my back. it's the best.

I don't pay for the water in my place, and I will admit it is the one thing I waste with abandon. I feel bad about it...but...showers.
