I can't imagine winning either way is going to affect anything, but there were 5 no votes yesterday, and now suddenly there's hundreds, so we could use a few more "YES" votes.

Also, I can't imagine anyone here would do it, but please don't be like "I'm voting NO, because I want more than just one day to be meatless!"

Lots of interesting comments there like...
Quote:
Going meatless one day per week is a great first step. Removing dairy and eggs every day would go along way in reducing obesity, fatigue, and illness in our students.

Because obviously dairy/eggs are the root cause of obesity, fatigue and illness...

Just another"chip away" at the sovereignty of Parents Control of their own children. It is just another "we are Elite and your not" by educators.

Heaven forbid the choice for 1 day of the week for a school provided lunch doesn't contain meat. I'm not sure school provided lunch in general is part of parents control anyway?

I also enjoy the person that predicted 'meatless monday' meant jelly sandwiches and ketchup on hamburger buns.

Oh I could go on and on... but alas, I will not.

Not a huge leap! I went to a catholic school that did meatless Fridays during lent and a jelly sandwich would've looked pretty fine next to "quesadillas" that was really just cold cheese inside a cold tortilla? Or the totally-different-we're-not-at-all-out-of-ideas grilled cheese - cold cheese inside cold bread!

I would think this would be better than that, but I guarantee my school is still serving kids that lunch during lent.
