There is a good chance I will be running a baked goods stall in weekend markets here in London, mostly because they have no idea what cookies are and that peanut butter should be in everything. It's American style, classics, girl scouts, mostly cookies but with brownies and buns too. I can't think of any good names so I thought I'd ask this brain trust to vote on the names my friends have suggested. Can you guess what my only suggestion was?*

*yes it was Hunan Wok don't vote for that.

If it's Unique New York would the food names be based on Anchorman as well? Scotch cookies, get into my belly.

Lololol Tofulish, husband's rec was American fork Yeah! hahahahah

Tigon I forgot he says that! We would just always say it to warm up before shows or concerts or whatever. I love Unique New York but as my brother rightly pointed out, "you have no NY street cred except sleeping on my couch all the time." hahaha. But America=NY in rest of world soooo...

I'd probably just go with something simple like Daffodil Bakery, so people know it's a bakery. the rest of those names are kind of confusing. I like Unique New York though. I wonder if people in other countries use that as a vocal warm up, too? I think to people in England, Philly is basically New York anyway.

I love Daffodil Bakery! The others are too out there for a stand, I think; I'd probably pass by most of those if I was looking for a cookie.

It sounds happy.

I think Daffodil Bakery is the one that sounds welcoming and like a place to buy a little warm baked smile. That is so exciting that you're doing this!

i do love Hunan Wok. but i think i only chose Daffodil because it is the only name that makes it clear you are selling baked goods.

I do love a pun though... you could probably work in the "American Bakery" thing with any punny name....
Buns and Roses American Bakery
Cookie to Ride American Bakery
Cookie Nation...
Peanut Gallery...

I picked Daffodil Bakery because that's the one where I thought if I saw a sign in a market I'd know that it was a bakery.

I like the idea behind 'Side Project' - like its almost a little bit self-depricating which I enjoy. But I also think the word Bakery needs to be in it. What about 'Side Job Bakery' or 'Side Gig Bakery' ? I feel like with the addition of bakery, project feels clunky.

I picked Daffodil Bakery; I dislike joke-y names for places. Including the word Bakery helps a lot.

I think Daffodil is boring. I think the name should be somewhat related to the products or you.

I chose Unique New York because I dont like any of the other names but I agree having "bakery" or "cookies" or something in the name would help.

I like torque's "Cookie Nation" best. And otherwise vote for something with Bakery in it.

or even just "don't call 'em biscuits" (i think that'd be ideal, cause you'd catch them with biscuits, and then intrigue them to want to learn more about these non-biscuits.)
i was thinking it might be a little exclusionary to include "we"

This is good thinking.

I definitely agreed that you want it to be obvious the stall is selling baked goods.

I think its really important to know your audience. Daffodil Bakery is a really generic name and doesn't highlight your niche, which is American baked goods. I agree that you don't want something so unrelated (Hunan Wok) that it is confusing, but you also don't want something so generic that no one knows what you're selling. I also think that a funny name can be a draw for the right target audience.

Let's get Bready to Crumble!

When we were coming up with a name for Kristen's bakery my favorite was FLOURSTORM bakery, whatever it is, it should definitely be ALL CAPS

The Baked Yankee? (ETA maybe that sounds too much like a place where you could purchase... enhanced... baked goods.)

I actually really like Daffodil Bakery - it's easy to pronounce and remember and has a cheerful vibe to it.
