Normally I hate April Fool's day but I can totally get behind this one:

What best/worst pranks have you seen or experienced today?

Time Out posted that my brewery was opening a second location in the city. But they posted it YESTERDAY, so I was like, "Why doesn't anyone ever tell me anything?! How could you guys not tell me this?!"

...oh.

I'm really hoping the taco cleanse cookbook is real. If not, I might cry.

I was looking for prank ideas to do for kids and on was making onions look like caramel apples. Pretty sure my kid would burst into tears if I pulled that on her.

The book is real. You can search for it on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. And it's for sale on Powell's, too, though the search isn't working for some reason.

Yay!

The Whole Foods site wasn't great this year, but I liked "grass fed wheatgrass - you can never be too careful."

This is not ok! April Fool's day is bad enough when it's one day a year. Let's not Christmas this holiday and let it creep out into the surrounding days and weeks. Apparently Google did some elaborate week-long set up for one of their jokes today that they were going to buy a music service. No, dude. One day. That's all you get.

I used to have these downstairs neighbors who had two cats that looked like two of my cats. I always thought it would be a great prank to sneak into their apartment and switch cats. If they had had any sense of humor at all, I would have gone for it.

A friend of mine told her kid that she had just made some brownies. He was so excited, until he discovered that the oven was full of giant cutouts of the letter E made from brown construction paper!

One of my coworkers did the old standby "I'm pregnant" to her husband - who had a less than supportive reaction and now they're fighting for real. Let this be a lesson to you.

It may be real, but that doesn't mean it's okay. There's a boycott building: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=33286

A friend of mine posted that her coworker proposed to her for April Fool's and she was really upset after he yelled "April Fool!!!!!" after she said "yes." Yikes. Not a good prank dude.

A friend posted a photo on Facebook of a prank her colleague pulled on her. They had cut out pictures of Nicolas Cage's face and taped them to pretty much everything on her desk. It was equally funny/terrifying.

My brother did the MEANEST thing but it was pretty good, considering the current state of NYC veg restaurants. He sent me an email with the subject line "Blossom and Blossom Du Jour to Close April 30." I FREAKED out and cried and was about to share in the NYC forum here...and then clicked the 'article' link and it was just an April Fools image. So relieved but ahh too close to home considering the loss of Lan, Pukk, Snail...and I'm sure more are coming.

The worst thing is that there was an awful fire here right in the center of London, and most West End shows had to cancel performances for tonight --- and people on twitter think the cancellation notices are jokes. Ugh!

I did worse than that one time. to my (ex-)partner's credit, she called me on it instantly. which was impressive before 8am!

This is top-notch A-level pranking. Good clean fun; nobody gets hurt; Nic Cage. I approve.

Yeah, but saying "you're pregnant" doesn't work as well.

I'm going to guess he told her that he got somebody ELSE pregnant...

Tumblr's fake office suite prank is annoying and it hit as of midnight, so I was sure I had a virus and had a mild panic attack. So that was fun.

Nothing else bad really happened, though. I've noticed a lack of people I know making fake pregnancy announcements, so that's nice!

Those are the worst. Though I admit I've always secretly dreamed of timing a real pregnancy just right so that I could announce it once on April 1st, then never mention it again until the baby came.

I emailed some of Fee's friends and told them to not acknowledge her dog toy gift no matter what. It's going over great so far.
