On this occasion it did appear to be natural and not some idiot human with green hair dye. A puppy was born with faintly green fur. On the linked site they said "Veterinarians believe that the green fur is caused by an exposure to biliverdin—a green bile pigment found in the placenta, according to Time magazine in 2014." It will fade with time.

Weirdly, the other eight puppies in the litter were not green. I'd have thought they all shared a placenta but I don't know much about dog pregnancies.

Oooh that's better then. I thought maybe some doofus had managed to selectively breed for a greenish tinge.

Puppies grow in individual birth sacks so I guess the fact that only one pup was green isn't that strange.

Ah, right. That does make more sense if they're separated.

There was a lot of potential for the story to be infuriating!
