Well according to Sarah Palin, anyway.

Bring on the tots!

What in the holy hell did she just say? I haven't paid Sarah Palin a moment's attention in ages; I see she's gotten even less coherent over time...

Right? Talk about an incomprehensible word salad. And her whole manner and delivery is so erratic; it's like she doesn't even know what she means. I wouldn't be entirely surprised to learn she's got some substance issues.

I can't laugh at that because I can't help but think there are some kind of underlying issues causing it.

Wow, I have to agree, I went in watching it expecting some humorously ignorant shiitake to laugh at, but her mannerisms just really seemed to speak to something health, or maybe drug, related. I definitely don't remember her speaking to be quite that disorganized and erratic a few years back.

Or it could just be that her usual stupidity looks even more awkward on the videos being produced for her new network, because of lower production values or standards of professionalization. The lighting is terrible, and it looks like she's in a storage closet or something. She's always given the impression of being a complete idiot (we're talking about someone with political pretensions, born in 1964, who had never heard of Margaret Thatcher until 2008, when she was running for vice president), so it comes as no surprise that her own media outlet would ratchet her babbling incomprehensibility up to higher-than-usual levels. In any case, she is consistently mean, spiteful and viciously hostile to everything I consider good and just in any decent social contract, so I'm not inclined to feel any particular concern for her one way or the other, as long as she stays out of public office (of course, it would be a little slice of heaven if she'd just STFU, but we all know that's not going to happen).

Well, yeah, I don't mean to say we should all be concerned or considerate or anything, she's definitely a crasshole... it just really made me scratch my head and furrow my brows way more than I was expecting.

It comes across more as a parody than reality to me, so that's what I'm thinking too. But I also have poor visual memory and think that Tina Fey as Sarah Palin looks more like Sarah Palin than Sarah Palin does.

Some very funny commentary going around about her ridiculous-sounding "network."

In a most poetic reflection of both form and content, Palin's audio is a mangled, scratchy, and inarticulate mess that would make even the most low budget public access programs from the 80s cringe.

We recently took a look at what’s going on at SarahPalinTV, so you don’t have to. (You’re welcome.) Sadly, it seems that Palin has not taken any of the Twitter suggestions generously offered up for programming on her channel, suggestions like “Death Panels, She Wrote.” Sarah Palin TV runs with more of an “Impeach Obama Around the Clock” kind of theme, along with some of Palin’s homespun homilies.

It almost - almost - makes you want to watch, except it would be hard to justify killing that many brain cells.

It definitely strikes me as odd, but in comparison to her campaign appearances, I think it's just a matter of her not having the GOP PR team behind her anymore to go over talking points with her. I think she's always been a ditz spluttering incomprehensibly about things which she doesn't fully understand; I just think she was given hardcore guidance to shape her formless rage into something resembling a salient point during the 2008 election.

Exactly. John McCain and his campaign staff have got a lot to answer for. If they hadn't unleashed this twitching, babbling, gurning monster on the public consciousness, she'd still makin' Velveeta and moosemeat casseroles in Wasilla, doncha know, and only her family and the terrified local wildlife would be aware of her existence.

Yeah, she managed to sound even less comprehensible than when the 'liberal gotcha media' was peppering her with tricky questions like "what newspaper do you read?"

"Tea Party Den Mother Sarah Palin is continuing her quest to be Bizarro Oprah by creating her own network channel—online."

Please someone make a comic called Bizarro Oprah.

She was basically just talking in bullet point buzzwords that would excite conservatives.

We have watched that clip so often that when anybody seems like a rent-a-quote on TV, Lee and I look at each other and say "9...11"
