Also, in French, we have the ugliest vegan word equivalent of "cheeze": "fauxmage", which means "fake cheese"... yeah... who wants to call their food fake?

I actually like that! I might use it and sound fancy! ;) What out people in the non-dairy cheeze section!

What I like in English vegan vocabulary is "nooch". It's so cute, I want to use it when I'm speaking French.

Well, part of why it sounds weird in French is because "mage" also means "magician". So it's not only fake cheese, it's a fake magician...
I know French is fashionable in the U.S., that may be why it sounds good to Americans...

Being a migraine sufferer, I would agree health is a great gift... but OK, that saying is rather insulting to all the people who are "dead and just breathing"... Uh, how do you breathe when you're dead, already?

My mom called to tell me she getting me kugel, so I told her not to because it has eggs. So she tells me she'll get me zucchini kugel, I'm like no mom it has eggs. Sweet potato kugel no mom it has eggs. And she goes "But I've seen you eat zucchini and sweet potatoes before!" I go yea mom, when they weren't slathered in eggs. And she goes but it's a zucchini kugel not an egg kugel. They need to change the name at the deli.

A comment on a cookbook giveaway. The question was "What does the word vegan mean to you?"

Quote:
Vegan to me means no processed foods. No additives all natural.

WRONG

So in retort to the endless "where do you get your protein from" questions I reposted a photo about vegetable based protein. Of course there had to be one smart asparagus that comments saying "so no juicy steak then." Eh...... is that meant to make me cry with regret for giving up being a barbaric, thoughtless fool?! Steak has never, ever been tempting to me at all. I would actually rather eat shiitake and I do not see the attraction at all. Why does meat turn normally nice, intelligent people into complete morons?

I shall be taking that for a signature, thank you!

Daisychain, I wonder if it were possible to make a pancake oreo. Like two chocolate pancakes with some kind of whipped cream/sugar center in the middle drowning in maple syrup? I'm going off to google...

I do believe I have seen a recipe for that some where on the internet. Although I think 2 chocolate pancakes with the whipped cream with crumbled oreos mixed through it would be amazing. Served with an oreo milkshake of course.
