I have celeb vegan gossip but I met them through work and it would be super unprofessional to gossip...and its killing me.

Does it have anything to do with Pam Anderson? I just know she was in Nfld recently because of the seal industry.
Speaking of pet peeves, all the seal industry supporting friends who I apprently have, who blew up my FB feed with all kinds of pro-seal skin/pro-seal killing comments because of the stunt her and Sam Simon pulled.

on instagram someone labeled a picture of fried chicken as vegan and said 'just because i don't eat it, does not mean i can't cook it'...i guess celebrating it is okay too?

Listening to a vegan podcast which regularly and extensively solicits for donations, when the podcaster frequently mentions things which suggest that they enjoy a very affluent lifestyle (regular holidays abroad, expensive purchases etc).

That was my assumption just because she seems to like to let her affluence known. I've never listened to the podcast myself but on her website she has a donation link for if you want to support her podcast.

I heard through a connection that I can't talk about what she charges for public appearances and yeah...I don't think she needs donations.

The website says to support her podcast and her important work. I assume that means her work in spreading veganism.

Podcasts accepting donations/having bonus content for paid subscribers seems to be the norm now. We're just spoiled from Erika and Jordan giving us a free podcast that blew all of the others out of the water.

...that is not a defense of CPG. EVER.

None of the podcasts I listen to ask for donations, it sounds weird. Some of them do have sponsors, though.

The podcasts I listen to on the MaxFun network have a donor drive once a year because their stuff is mostly listener supported, though some podcasts have sponsors from businesses as well.

Yeah honestly, I figure if someone asks for donations on podcasts/website, that is their business. I think "donation" is a bit of a wrong word for it though because I'd attribute donation to a charity.

The thing that always kills me is that podcasting DOESN'T REALLY COST ANYTHING. I mean, we had a $50 mic, and then Erika's amazingness dealing with editing and stuff, and other than the cost of the booze we consumed during the show, it was free. We did solicit donations one time to pay for a person's entry to Vida Vegan Con.

In conclusion, I miss Erika. I also wonder what the awful Red Vegan Radio person is up to with the $3k she raised to buy a new laptop to do a podcast on.

Funny that this would come up because I don't normally listen to podcasts but decided while doing dishes yesterday that I wanted to have some company so I put on the latest CPG podcast. Yeah, it's a bit much. You can become a member and there's different levels of membership and...yeah I'm not really sure what that entitles you to?

Other than that I enjoy what she has to say, but I could do without the soliciting for donations bit.
