I like the rare occasion where I can eat the free food my boss leaves for us. He leaves free food quite a bit. He used to almost always have peanut butter crackers, but then he went to Keebler brand (which inexplicably has milk) and then stopped them altogether. It had been a while since I could have free food, but today there were (seemingly vegan) onion bagels! Om nom nom. Free is the best flavor.

At work today (for Valentine's day, because they love us :-P) everyone got a little box of treats. Most people got macarons but my box had a postit note on it saying "vegan" and inside were a selection of dark chocolates from Gourmandises Avenue Chocolaterie in the market. I am going to enjoy those!

[Then a co-worker gave me her box of macarons for my kids. She is diabetic and her husband is allergic to hazelnuts]

The Girl Scouts I saw the other day were super bummed that they didn't have the company that does vegan cookies this year. Cool that 10 year olds are talking about this stuff!

boyfriend's supervisor got treats for the office...the boyfriend got 3 packs of Justin's peanut butter cups! boyfriend also brought dark chocolate squares for everyone - his cube mates ate them without looking for weird vegan ingredients!

My friend's birthday brunch, I made savoury chickpea muffins, they made me vegan crepes. Food is yummy!

Part way through the meal, the vegan food convo comes up, and someone says "dirt needs carrots!" I say no, dirt does not require carrots. Then another person says "but carrots have feelings too!" And I laughed and said "no, they don't, but I'm not playing omnivore bingo with you guys!" And they all laughed. Conversation continued and all was well.

Made a cake for work yesterday. People are still raving about it today. Some people are devastated they didn't get to the tea room in time to get some.

All my stomach problems cleared up shortly after becoming vegan. There was a time I was eating meat for every meal and fast food several times a week. Going vegan forced me to learn how to cook and I've never been healthier!

My guy is an omni, but he is my vegan pet awesome. Although this isn't something I would have ever asked of him, he chose on his own to never eat meat around me. Additionally, when I make dinner he eats it and loves it and always gets seconds. He DOESN'T do what so many other people do, which is chant:

Uh, vegan lasagna? How the hell?
What is this?
How is this vegan?
Oh, "X ingredient" isn't vegan
What is this?
Poke, poke, poke
Oh, it's actually okay
You make gross food look good (which someone at work told me last week)
Ummmm....I'll try it. I guess
Tofu? Ugh.

He tries everything, loves everything, and is extraordinary supportive. I really appreciate it, and tell him that all the time.

Finally, he feeds his kids a lot of vegan meals (when I'm not around) to make it normal for them, so someday, when we live together, everyone can eat the same meals together. I love that he's thinking ahead and finding ways to integrate me into his little family.

I really love when recipe searches have filters for vegan. Specifically, pinterest! Now i won't get any of those crappy "Look at this super meaty thing, so not vegan HAHA" posts when i search for vegan.

My Whole Foods now carries Sticky Fingers stuff. I saw an entire carrot cake for sale yesterday and I kept wondering if I should buy it. I wasn't quite feeling like carrot cake especially that much but it made me happy to see it.

i refuse to buy Sticky Fingers stuff from anywhere except Sticky Fingers. It's cool that it is there, but getting Sticky Fingers is a big exciting event for me. If i can get it anywhere, it would ruin it.

My boyfriend has not eaten anything noon vegan since May. He said over the weekend that he does it for me and the animals...

I only go to Sticky Fingers if a PPKer is visiting so it is a pretty rare event (or possibly if my husband and I go into DC which is also pretty rare) I like that if I wanted a small treat, I at least have options.

Mmmm linanil eat some sticky fingers goodies for me!

Yesterday my spouse took dinner leftovers of black bean and soy curl enchiladas in mole to work for lunch. He said all his coworkers in the lunch room were sniffing and saying "That smells so good! What is it?"

I bought so much stuff at Sticky Fingers! Ate it all too. I wish it weren't such a pain in the arse to get home from. It's not far from work. It's one of those 12 minutes there, 70 minutes back deals so common around DC.

My friend ordered tofu when we went out for noodles at the weekend, because she said she liked the tofu I cooked the other week so much! (She's never going to go veggie, but every little helps I guess?)

Don't get me wrong, it makes me happy to see Sticky Fingers treats all around. I did buy them once at the NIH hospital (yeah, they had them in the cafe thing!) but the cupcakes were dry and honestly not very good. Since then i just hold out for special visits to the storefront.
