Another successful vegan cookie sharing experience with skeptical co-workers. Thank you, Chocoloate PB Pillows and Isa and Terry.

Some Twitter vegans were pretty mad at Ellen for the pizza thing, so I'm leaning toward not vegan as well. (I didn't watch the oscars). And, apparently the Ellen show orders from that place a lot. It would be nice to get some insight into this but I'm not optimistic.

my boyfriend said i was being to hard...not at all. you cannot positively promote veganisim if you choose to pass out nonvegan pizza. looking at the menu - nothing says vegan and the food looks pretty shitty.

to keep it positive: i now want a big piece of vegan pizza!

Ellen + Revlon = not such a great ambassador anyway, but I agree with you.

Sorry for peeving up the awesome thread! You know what's vegan and awesome? Parsnips! Yay!
(I made myself the best lunch yesterday. Like a curried tempeh added to raw diced red onion, shredded carrots and parsnips and a noochy spinach sauce. I hope I can replicate it.)

Oh wow. I couldn't begin to remember. A sweet potato cupcake, a green tea donut (good but not the best use of limited donut access), and some amazing jelly donut thing that I should have bought a dozen of. And cookies for the birds. I was pretty restrained! Hah. I think I spent $24 and $30 was my budget. Some of it I gave my mom and dad, but we all tasted everything. (And I ate most of it except the one my dad scarfed)

It's actually Cover Girl and I believe she signed on to do that before the vegan thing. So maybe she is under contract to fill out a few more campaigns/years.

I'm not must of a chocolate bar person but Wegman's had a bunch of interesting stuff include rice milk chocolate bars, Mahalo and Jokerz bars, Justin PB cups, etc. They also have bulk peanut chews.

This was such a great 13 minute video on why we should go vegan, with no graphic pictures or shocking video. It was really effective and presented so much information, put together in a really accessible way, in only 13 minutes, and I think its a great one to share with people who ask why we are vegan.

That was excellent. Sarah's story at the beginning really made me cry.

I had been cooking the filling for the v'con Tempeh Shepherdess Pot Pie when a teenage student showed up and said "It smells really good in here!" I'm not sure if he would have still liked it if he got to taste it, but I thought it was nice that he liked how it smelled.

I won some Lavera products from a Facebook competition on a HFs page. I get to collect them on Tuesday when I go back to work.

So we went to visit my in laws to celebrate my mother in laws birthday and my husband picked up a Sticky Fingers carrot cake from Whole Foods. It was really, really good and my mother in law said it was the best carrot cake she ever had. My husband then took the rest to work (half a cake) and I was worried about what other people have said regarding others rejecting vegan baked goods. No worry with my husband's work, it was gone within half an hour of him setting it out.

I've been vegan for 8 years. Small potatoes compared to many here, but I was a huge fan of restaurant gourmet food and one of those "OMG vegetarians are the most miserable people, they miss out all the joy of a good meal and then they try and ruin it for everyone else!" jerks, and I wouldn't have ever thought I could be vegan for a week let alone 8 years.

Thanks PPK, I couldn't have done it without you <3

My pet awesome today is that because I feed my dog vegan food, it's a little less gross when she licks my face right after eating.

Yesterday I went to a friend's family's omni barbecue. We made a tofu and quinoa salad and brought some veggie burgers. The host was super nice and heat up a separate little grill just for our burgers and then this older man came up to us raving about the tofu and quinoa salad. He was going on and on about how great the texture of the "rice" was and how we should have a restaurant and sell it. His enthusiasm was adorable!
