This is pretty cool. It's a site showing statistics from a survey asking questions that are supposed to gauge people's well-being based on several factors such as positive feelings, vitality etc. You can do a survey yourself to see how you rate. The map shows the average statistics for each nation. I think it's pretty interesting to see. The first thing I did was flick back and forth between only showing male and female data for overal well-being and there are only a few countries, it seems, where the level of female overall well-being is equal/very close to the male's (like Switzerland, Denmark, and Finland). http://www.nationalaccountsofwellbeing.org/explore/indicators/zwbieta: Also, you can do the survey yourself!

So this is where the UK government got the idea from then. They want to measure the nation's "Happiness" after cutting billions from the public spend and putting hundreds of thousands out of work. "Now let's see how happy everyone is".
It's very telling that the "happiest" people are those in countries that tax highly and provide a high level of public services in return for those taxes. America, wake up!
My result was pretty average, which considering I was pretty negative about most aspects, is not encouraging.

Yeah, good luck with that. I think it's funny that the Scandinavian countries are in the green on every indicator except self-esteem. All that liberal guilt.
