Advantages of going: I'd get out of the house I could bring some work I need to do and feel like I'm out and not working I think they have soy milk They have some cardboard like vegan prepackaged thing I could eat It's close enough to walk to Small amount of social interaction I could buy coffee beans for home while I'm there (not that I'm really running dangerously low yet)
Disadvantages of going: I'd have to get dressed They have cardboard like vegan stuff I think it's cold out, so I don't want to walk, but if I drive I'll feel guilty cause it's so close I'll probably get less stuff done at home if I go I don't have a laptop, so I can't ppk while there They often have this huge flat screen tv on, which ruins the coffee shop experience

I need more information before I can properly advise you. How frequently do you get to stay home and enjoy pajamas? Do you have food and/or soy milk in your kitchen? How likely is it that you will have a meaningful social interaction at the coffeeshop? How likely is it that you will have a meaningful social interaction on the PPK? How cold is it? (ask www.thefuckingweather.com)

Ha, I was just going to say "coffee shop" is always the answer. But that was before the flat screen, which is weird.

I'm a big advocate of coffee shop over home, especially if I have work that needs to be done. It's actually a good think if you can't bring your laptop and have the PPK distract you. I'm more industrious because everyone around me is looking important with their Macs and I feel the need to look important too, so I work instead of messing around on the internet.
My answer is coffee shop, as long as you have things to do while there.

Stay home. If, in an hour or two, you haven't gotten any work done, then get dressed and go.

How frequently do you get to stay home and enjoy pajamas? Maybe about once every couple of weeks.Do you have food and/or soy milk in your kitchen? I have plenty of food (including frozen scones and cake I can thaw if I want coffee shop food), coffee beans, and assorted tea in my homeHow likely is it that you will have a meaningful social interaction at the coffeeshop? >1%How likely is it that you will have a meaningful social interaction on the PPK? 100%How cold is it? (ask http://www.thefuckingweather.com) Squee! I'm only getting my weather from here from now on! It's fucking44 now with a predicted high of fucking53 and will be partlyfuckingcloudy all day.

social interaction is never the answer. three-dimensional humans will only break your heart.

I'm pretty sure the results of this poll where influenced by the fact that it was answered only by people who spend too much time on line. I followed your wisdom ppk and stayed home. I got my floors vacuumed/washed, did some recipe testing, got some work done, and took a bubble bath! Now I'm going to do some yoga and then reheat some of the yummies I've cooked up for dinner.

I took a homemade scone with me the last time I went to a coffee shop because there were no vegan offerings...was that tacky? I did order coffee while I was there.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that especially since, if they asked, you could have told them exactly why you took it and influenced them to modify their menu.

Not tacky at all, especially since you did order coffee. In fact, inspirational. I think I'll be doing this in the near future. What's tacky is the shop not offering vegan options. And, as mushroom slave said, if they ask, you can explain and maybe influence their menu options.

kfad wrote: choirqueer wrote: Best weather site ever! back to your regularly scheduled thread. No, actually I think this thread needs to now be re-scheduled to be all about the forking weather sight, cause it is the best weather sight ever! (Also, the day is over, and the question of whether or not to go to the coffee shop has been solved.)
