guess who got a second date?

I got a message yesterday from person A. Then I got one today from person B saying 'my friend A messaged you yesterday'. Awkward much?

I met my boyfriend on OKcupid. The relationship is pretty new but we somehow skipped the dating stage and went straight to relationship. We get along so well that the whole relationship just feels so familiar already. At the moment it is kinda long distance which sucks, but i’m moving to where he lives (an awesome coincidence) early next year. He was the first and only person I dated via online dating. Yeah, I somehow won the online dating lottery on that one. Good luck to you all still playing the dating game! The process can really suck at times but the outcome is always worth it!

The guy I had coffee with on Sunday has been messaging me constantly on okcupid since, but has yet to mention getting together again. I don't get it.

Also I'm pretty sure I'm never going to hear from the guy I went on two dates with. I asked him if he wanted to hang out over this last weekend, he said he was busy but free this week, so I told him to text me when he wanted to do something and I haven't heard from him since. Figures.

Ugh, why can't people be better at dating? Let's get a little forthrightness here people! Seriously, you and I really need to institute post-date breakdown sessions. To hell with looking desperate!

I think I am terrible at dating, but people keep proving to me that you can, in fact, be worse.

He was some 20-year old kid with some sort of handle that had to do with pumpkins or something fluffy. I can't remember. His smile was totally creepy.

My profile specifically states no people who want to talk about how awesome bacon is, no religious people, and no relentlessly creepy people.

And my profile states a lot of things, but I still get messages from 19 year olds who live three states away and have kids.

I don't understand why this happens! How do so many people not read profiles of people they're writing to? Some kind of spray and pray thing?

I have an account, but no picture or profile info at all, and I still get messages. People are weird.

This would totally make me uncomfortable and I would definitely delete it, but a cuddle/make out buddy is exactly what I'd like. Maybe I should message him.

all I can picture is the Seal wanting a cuddle/make out buddy. it is completely creepy to think about. although I'm not sure if that image is more or less creepy than the original message in question...

I have no idea. I would never message someone without reading their profile, but it happens allllll the time.

So, tonight, I am staying in. I was sewing my new denim vest which is almost perfect (supposed to be black on black but golden thread on black - not a huge deal) putting patches on it. Anyways, got a message from this girl. She asked if I wanted to chat. Sure, nothing creepy about that. Our conversation starts normal until I asked her why she moved out here.

me: still married?
girl: yeah
me: umm not my cup of tea, girl, to date someone taken, sorry.
girl: not even to have friends?
girl: well, the hubs is totally cool with what i do. but if you feel the way you do, even about making friends. that's cool.

Yeah, I've been finding that too. But with the guy I've been seeing I've been having the, uh, opposite problem.

Yep, yikes. I've talked to a few people who were married/with someone and just looking for friends in the area, but they were always really up front with it, which I'm totally cool with. But that's pretty weird.

I would probably NOT be creeped by someone looking for a cuddle buddy, or even a makeout buddy.

But I guess I've been to cuddle parties in the past, where you are cuddling with 20 strangers in a pile on the floor.
