there are two accounts (one in the Foyer, the other in the general Food forum) that are churning out ridiculous numbers of posts. i must've flagged at least 40 of them in he last 20 minutes.

i'm guessing making a new forum post isn't proper protocol, but i didn't really know what else to do.

I think they have been taken care of.

One was so bizarre it was almost poetic. I'm kinda sad that one is gone.

If I flag it and it tells me it's already been flagged, there's nothing else I can do. Sometimes mods are off making food or sitting on the throne or having a life and can't jump on the spam situation ASAFP. Just ignore the spammers, they will be taken care of.

But don't you want to make money from home while enlarging your penis?

Thanks, erika! We've been deleting spammers like crazy, but they keep popping back up in droves. We're definitely looking into it, but yeah, sometimes we're out or don't see it right away or whatever.

i've only seen one today. (but i have been busy elsewhere)

i recognize that people in charge of the forums have their own lives, ans i wasn't trying to reprimand anyone for not taking action. it's basically an expression of "god damn there are some extremely prolific spammers today and i don't know what to do about it and i'm slightly troubled by it".

and yes, thank you to the mods for taking care of them.

I looked at the profile of the one who was posting a bunch of Uggs and other shopping links, and under 'Occupation' it said 'Human', which made me smile.

yes I noticed earlier there was loads of spam. Thanks, mods, for taking care of it! I don't recall ever seeing this much spam during the daytime, which is probably why it stood out.

This made me laugh way too hard.

I liked the one that said "procure worthless prescription drugs!" i think it was badly translated and trying to offer something free rather than worthless.

It's the spammer apocalypse. I'd almost prefer zombies.

In the fight against spam, we lost anything posted today in the late morning/early afternoon. I think we're gonna try again tonight to update the software and see if that helps/

Could the spam apocalypse and the missing morning be related? (I was slacking off and working all morning and didn't even make it on the boards today until recently.)

I think I'd shut down registration temporarily and add email verification to the registration process.
